When I was 6 my family was too poor to buy presents. That's how I found out... :bigcry:

Strangely enough, I held on to my faith in the Easter Bunny.

I never did because when I was 5, I saw my stepmom put the presents under the tree at night.

Plus, she was naked... which scarred me for a while.

I never believed in him. Here in my country the kids believes in "Los Reyes Magos" (The Three Kings). I guess I stop believing in them at age of 10 more or less.

Sint Nikolaas that is what we call him in Dutch. We also celebrate that holiday, which is early December ;) December 5th to be exact.

wow everyone was so young!

i think most children here are either told or they cop on when they're bout 11. i was 11 when i copped. im such a clever child. i didnt cry though, unlike my sister who bawled her eyes out when me mam told her! :haha:

i've got a wee brother and sister and they're 10 & 8 and they still believe. my wee sister is actually convinced that she saw santa claus outside her room last year, suit & all. shes a drama queen.

We believe in Papá Noel (Santa Claus) and The Three Wise men. I stopped believing in them when I was 7. A classmate told me and then my mom confirmed it  It was sooooo sad! Especially cause I had a huge imagination, and I even remember seeing the sleigh one Xmas Eve. It's unbelievable how your mind can work some times :)

I think it was always in the back of my mind. My dad always smirked whenever he spoke about it, and just the way the presents and everything were packaged etc. lol.. It was very dad and mum-esque, but it was great to think that there was one. I think my sister got pissed off at my parents one christmas when I was lke 8 or 8.5 and she told me.
I'm certain though, one Easter morning, the doorbell rang and someone dressed as a rabbit gave me an egg.

I've always known, at a rather early age, that there would be no jolly fat white guy in a red outfit carrying a big sack of toys and sliding down chimneys in our old neighborhood.

He would have gotten robbed as soon as his sleigh landed.

Besides, we didn't have a chimney.

I remember mum telling me, or me approaching her. I just said something like "But he was real once...right?" so I guess I just decided it was some story from many years ago... lol!

I was 10

I was so upset. I was in my grade 5 class and my teacher asked if anyone still believed in Santa Claus... no one else put up their hand so I was too embarrassed to put up mine. Then he started going on about the make believe part of it all and I just sat there in disbelief!

When I got home I started telling mum how Mr C had said there was no Santa and mum told me to shhhh and pulled me into the bedroom coz my younger sister was nearby. I cried and cried, then I asked with hope about Easter Bunny and the Tooth Fairy and mum had to tell me about them too - so I started crying again.

Ohhhh depressing memories :bigcry:
