No clue. I'm surprised they never use a question like that when they have the weekly "ask Andy" stuff.

The surname "Roderick" is Saxon in origin and means: Rich in counsel, from Rode, counsel, and ric, rich.
That tells us very little about Roddick's background, but it is possibly related.

I'm almost positive that Andy is White Anglo Saxton Protestant. English background probably.

aha, this is a bit clearer...
What does the Roddick name mean?
1. Scottish and northern Irish: probably a variant of Reddick.
What does the Reddick name mean?
1. Scottish and northern Irish: habitational name from Rerrick or Rerwick in Kirkcudbrightshire, named with an unknown first element + w¥c ‘outlying settlement’. It is also possible that the first element was originally Old Norse rau©£r ‘red’.
2. English: habitational name from Redwick in Gloucestershire, named in Old English with hrïod ‘reeds’ + w¥c ‘outlying settlement’.

Way to get things done, Q :bigclap:
Also, considering Andy's famous temper, maybe he's Scot and not English. ;)
