Will Guille win his first slam in 2005?

I think he will win his first slam at Roland Garros. Providing that something doesn't happen in the final like it did with Gaudio, Guille will win his beloved French Open. I also think Guille will do well at the US Open and the Aussie Open. He will get to the quarterfinals or better in both of them.

It would be really cool if he will win RG:D (especially cuz i might see him there, if he's in the (semi)final

This year there's gonna be no 'kramp'!

cramp;)

no! no cramps! no injuries either I hope!

Yes I think he will come far during RG 2005

Only injury can prevent him from winning Roland Garros next year.
Neither Federer nor someone of the clay specialists will stop him there.
There was a poster at the TMC "Federer Express - Simply The Best".
I'd rather say: "Coria Express - Faster Than The Rest" !!!

I think he has a good chance down under. He is a very fit player and fit players do good there... but I don't know about his off-season work habits but, if they are good, he should stand a chance.

He will, obviously, be a favorite at Roland Garros. He is one of the best clay-courters around... and that's the only surface Federer isn't god-like on. :p

He'll probably be my favorite in Roland Garros so, I think he can win a major this year.

I'm thinkin' bout the AO as well. His off-season work is dandy indeed. He will be very fit for 2005.

Ah!! USA eh? What state you in?

We have no sporting events (except college stuff) and everybody is poor. YES. it's REALLY that boring. Unless we get lucky and have an important concert. The last important concert was...Velvet Revolver and somebody. I think that was 5 months ago. ANYWAY! :topic:

 He'll probably get to the round of 16 at Wimbly. He said he wants to play Ordina again too so, he's starting to like grass a bit more :yeah:

Even though I normally have a few other things to do than always supporting Guille, I don't dislike Coria and I really like the fact that is becoming such a great player with awesome results on multiple surfaces. I don't like claycourt tennis, but Coria is the most impressive player on clay I have seen since long time. He was and probably will be posting unbelievable results and winning streaks on clay in future and if there is any high quality clay player that deserves winning the French Open it is Coria. If he can continue where he was stopped in 2004, his chances will be high again (the rest will be decided by luck, draw, windfalls, daily form etc.). But so far, I'm not yet completely confident how good he will return in 2005 and if he can stay injury free. But I wish him the best for a French Open title and I could not imagine ANY player to whom such a title would fit better, especially regarding his great feats and results of all kind on clay in the past.

^All the Guille fans are hoping he can continue where he left off starting the first day of next season, to keep improving, and that he will be injury-free throughout the season, which would be a blessing. Guille is the most deserving to win Roland Garros right now and he came so very close last time, he is so great to watch on clay and is no slouch on the other surfaces either.

Vamos Guille!!!!! Best of Luck :yeah:.

I think that Coria has an excellent chance of doing well at the Slams in 2005, perhaps even winning one!
I'm not expecting very much in AUS...I'm figuring he'll need a little while to get back on his feet after the surgery and everything.
He can probably do very well on the clay court tournaments leading up to Roland Garros, and if he has his confidence back, he probably has a shot at the title.
Other than that, there's always the US Open where I'm sure he's desperate to prove himself -- I think that he could do well there, maybe even the semis if he's playing really well.
I hope that his shoulder is completely healed and he'll have a great year. :yeah:

I hope so much for Guille that he can win RG. 04 he has so much bad luck with the injuries and cramps that this year must be the year of Guillermo Coria. It gonna be very difficult at the australien open but I think with a little bit luck the quaterfinal is realistic.

First off: NEELY. YOUR AVATAR IS THE SHIT. I cannot believe. I'm so jealous. I wish I could draw like that. Where did you get it?

Guille is gonna try to show that he can play very well on mutiple surfaces ja. He basically sent a warning this year, being 1 of only 3 players to be in a final on grass, clay and hard court (the other 2 were who the hell else? Andy and Feds). But he will be the dominate player on clay, even though he continues to attest that Fererro is the best on clay

LOL, I know how you feel  I'm feeling the same about people who can draw like that because I completely suck at drawing, arts and stuff like that.
Having said that, it is not my own picture, I got it from Yin Yin, a Chinese girl from the forum. I met her first time a few months ago and she is a huge Nowitzki fan. A few weeks ago she came again to the basketball thread and saw that I was rooting for Philly and Iverson all the time. She showed me a sketch of AI which she has done and after that seeing that, I love it so much that I asked her if I could use it for some time as my avatar. :)
That's the story ;)

Sure, I noticed that this year and I saw his decision very positively to start seriously playing on grass (and not just one round at Wimbledon or not showing up at all). He will probably always be best-known for his efforts on clay (unless he never wins the Frech Open, but Wimbledon/US Open... ), but I really credit him that he got so many good results on hardcourt, too. Basel indoor not to forget and grass tournaments seemed to just kicked off for him. He was/will be working on that rather than saying "I have no chance there anyway, why playing or doing preparation tournaments?" and that's only a good thing for me.

Bleh. Nowitzki. He's all "We're not winning and it's all my fault :hysteric: " right now. Poor kid. Anyway, Allen has been a WMD latey  Not as good as Nash!! :p But s'all good :yeah:

 That and he even played doubles at Ordina and Wimbledon....and Buenos Aires. Speaking of that, I just heard he's not playing Buenos Aires next year. He's gonna play Marsella that week. He's actually gonna pick hard over clay ja. He is really putting forth the effort to be a better player on all surfaces.
