gotta go with the squirrels... (:

I'm not surprised. ;)

MisterQ
12-01-2004, 04:16 AM
well, the fish are included in there too, so it's not like i'm choosing one over the other. it's like they're tied. tied in the world of amanda's favorite animal rankings. (:

I considered doing "what's your favorite class of vertebrates" so we could express those mammal/bird/fish preferences. Maybe I should have. No one seems fired up about the sponges...

well you knew what i was going to vote for! (: i would have a tough time deciding between the others. i mean, sponges are cool - they're spongy! and jellyfish are cool because they look like mushrooms. and snails are cool cause they have so much time on their hands. and lobsters are cool cause they're all like, "i have pinchers, don't mess with me!" (:

yeah, most of these animals are pretty cool. except roundworms, which are just gross. :p

MisterQ
12-01-2004, 05:03 AM
i'm not particularly fond of any worms. wait... nope, none at all. (:

I know what you mean... However, some flatworms are pretty colorful and striking:

Q, may I ask why you prefer Echinoderms?

I had to go with good ole Chordates for myself though. That backbone... it's crucial :p

You see, I like all kinds of animals so this one was a little difficult for me. ;) yes I'm excited about flatworms and roundworms too. :bounce:

But I chose the backboned-ones because they include cute fuzzy-wuzzy bunnies, chipmunks, puppies....(damn, sponges are cute too  )

earthworms! they fertilize the ground and are better than those detrivores. i remember in 6th grade, we had to disect them. they were like a foot long. i also remember that when we cut them in half, all this dirt fell out. and they are just oh-so-cute.

What's your favorite animal phylum?
Porifera: sponges
Cnidaria: jellyfish, hydra...
Platyhelminthes: flatworms
Nematoda: roundworms
Mollusca: clams, snails, octopus, squid....
Annelida: earthworms
Arthropoda: insects, spiders, centipedes, lobsters!
Echinodermata: starfish, sea urchins, sand dollars, sea cucumbers
Chordata: sea squirts, fish, reptiles, amphibians, birds, mammals, and tennis players
out of curiosity, how many of these did you know off the top of your head?

I had to learn all of these for my college biology class but needless to say i've forgotten most of them by now since that was 8 years ago

I would but I'm already sole supporter of the Cnidaria. I'm sure someone will spread some love their way eventually though. :(
