Yes I am very disappointed about this because it's a good venue.
Now that I've rearranged my work holidays *again*, I hope we will see a very focused Seb at the Australian Open.

Thanks for that heart attack scare, Via ;) but you made up for it, so youre forgiven hehe.

Its hard to know whats going on with him...i guess we'll just have to wait. Easier for me, but it'd be hell for people trying to organise tickets and stuff. Please play Aus Open Seb!!! I've got a feeling he will tho, he loves it here!!! Riiiiiiighttttttt...:S

He should be playing Aus Open...otherwise i will give him a piece of my mind!!!

But...He's got a new trainer so he's back to training and thinking about next year so i'm pretty sure he's playing.

Seb's new coach is Brad Stine, and it's official...

Some more info from L'Equipe, 16.12.04:

I hope that to have an american coach is better then no coach generally.

Anyway, we'll see everything in Australia... or perhaps already in Doha?

Ehhh I don't want another Roddick !!!!

Other info, Stine speaks french fluently. Now I understand Seb's choice. He won't have to make efforts...lol

lol heh, i've tried to imagine Seb like 'another Roddick' for some minutes... without any success :p One Roddick - it's more than enough ;)
And yes, it's really good that Stine speaks French! That means he's not SO american. ... :D  just now I've imagine Seb with a russian coach  (*end of the world*)

Here's a short article I found on the internet:

GROSJEAN LINKS UP WITH STINE
French number one Sebastien Grosjean has hired Brad Stine as his new coach, three months after parting company with Thierry Tulasne.

Stine, an American, guided former world number one Jim Courier for more than seven years, and has also coached Mardy Fish and Taylor Dent.

"I did not know him (Stine) that well before but I saw him a few times when he was coaching Dent and Fish," Grosjean told L'Equipe on Thursday.

"He is nice and I wanted to discover another culture and another way of working.

"With him I hit the ball far harder."

Grosjean will start working properly with Stine next week and will resume top-level tennis action on January 5 in Doha.

The Frenchman put an end to his 2004 programme in September after his split with Tulasne but still finished 15th in the ATP Champions Race.

He better not turn arrogant

Good luck Seb!!! I dont think the thing he needs is more physical power or strength particularly, rather MENTAL STRENGTH so he doesnt go crazy *sigh* Maybe the American can toughen him up mentally, but dont go arrogant on us please.

I agree with you esther, seb must not turn arrogant :o but I dont think that it is really arrogance, Sebastien is not satisfied of his season on the tour and try to improve his tennis and thinks that changes can be good for him , having a new coach, with an different culture will perhaps be benefic for him, lets hope :)

but if its not the case, if the results are not as good as he expect, he should think that the problem dont come from his tennis but from HIM.
let wait and see ;)
