I still cannot understand why he is playing
this tournament when he is ranked so high

Hasn´t his tennis season been long enough?

jmgsdoubsprtnr
11-17-2004, 10:25 PM
maybe just so he doesn't get out of his groove? i dunno. he'd better win it though. there are some pretty well known, high ranked players there besides pim pim, so maybe it's not really a challenger, but more of an off-season tournament for players that still want to play  but they just call it a challenger?

well, hopefully this time next year he'll be playing the TMC. no pressure or anything. lol

Kristen

Now he can be fully prepared for the gruelling off season practice with Lleyton  in Adelaide

I don't know much about the challenger series...does 150K means 150,000 Euro(?)prize for the winner? Or maybe the "K" is just a thermal unit to show how hot the players are? :D
I guess they had to pay Pimpim a lot of money to invite him join in this match in the first place.

A challenger??!!! Come on Pim Pim you're one of the big boys now you shouldn't be playing challengers anymore!!!

yea, he really should play with the TOP players.

jmgsdoubsprtnr
11-23-2004, 02:15 AM
150K might mean that's the TOTAL pot (150,000), split between all the players. but i bet pim pim got a pretty hefty "appearance fee" where he gets money just for attracting fans by playing the tourney.

Jexy

Responses after the match:

Johansson Joachim (SWE) – Carraz Gregory (FRA) 7-6(3), 7-5

Translation:

Johansson Joachim: Grégory served very well again today, he hit a lot of aces. I could 'grow' (don't really know how to translate this) for the first time in the last game of the first set. I have been working with a new trainer since Tuesday and immediately winning a tournament is of course a very good start to good cooperation. I hope I will be ranked within the Top Ten next year, and therefore I won't be able to participate in this tournament again.

Carraz Grégory: Of course is one disappointed, when one loses a final. But since I didn't have many chances to win today, I can cope with the loss. Joachim's serve is very strong. He finds all possible angles, be it the T-Line or the outer line. But his second serve is also not bad at all. But, as a person, he is very much OK and very nice / sympathetic. I like to talk with him. I accomplished my goal at the season's ending. Next year I want to 'fight' again. I want to find the level of achievements I had in the past and reach the Top 60 of the world. My achievement here strenghtens me in reaching this goal.

 For Alexander I would work 7 days a week, all kosher functions
(Last night was a kosher wedding. 220 guests, worth more than $150,000... ridiculous! It was a great night, but normally those events are awful, especially the barmitzvahs!!)
**I'm not against Jewish people, but generally the people that we get are quite wealthy, and they try to out-perform everyone else, by making their event bigger and better. At the wedding last night, the husband converted to judaism.**
