I really miss Shimizu  ok I know he still skates around, but he has always been one of my faves. I like his skating style.

I did also like the part Ten Kortenaar wrote about Shimizu in his book

I think he skates weird :p

Chinese fondue?
I don't know what exactly it is, because I haven't had it myself... But it is like fondue, but you put sliced meat into a boiling water or soup and eat it with some sauce... Ste can explain it well, I think...

no that's only the name... it is a soup which you have in a pan and then you have sliced meat and you put the meat with a fork in the soup and wait till it is cooked that goes very quickly... and then you have plenty of sauces which you can eat with the meat you got cooked... it's very tasty :lick:

well the book is a sort of way to show the life of ten kortenaar, the speedskating life of course. Dunno exactly anymore as it's ages ago I read it... but he writes something about a training session in Japan when he was at the beginning of his career and there was this young japanese guy skating the 100 meter really fast all the time, but he thought that this guy prolly wouldn't be able to finish the 500 or so... of course this guy is shimizu.
