Yeah I mean the present Queen of England. SOOOO not cool

I know, the first was amazing though. She was the daughter of my favourite historical figure of all time.

Eimear O'Mahony
03-29-2009, 01:20 PM
Yeah plus she gave Ireland our independence back (or her husband did at least) so I have respect for her

Masha91
03-29-2009, 01:22 PM
Do you have a favourite historical figure? I like lots but have one absolute favourite.

Ahha! I'm back. Hi Maria, dave and Eimear!

Back to school tomorrow :o

Masha91
03-29-2009, 01:23 PM
Hi Luke! How are you?

Davodus
03-29-2009, 01:24 PM
oh no school tomorrow, that must suck

Masha91
03-29-2009, 01:25 PM
I'm debating whether to go to the 2 p.m. lecture or the 4 p.m. one if I go to the earlier one I'll have a break in between classes if I go the later one I don't have a break for four straight hours.

Eimear O'Mahony
03-29-2009, 01:27 PM
Hi Luke. No I don't to be honest, Maria. History was never my thing. If I REALLY had to choose someone like Martin Luther King who actually made a difference to millions of people. Its because of him Barack is there today

orangehat
03-29-2009, 01:27 PM
Well i'm fine, school kinda burns you out after awhile though. and the weekends always feel like half a day! :o

Oh okay, history is one of my great passions unfortunately, it's not as employable as psychology.

Masha91
03-29-2009, 01:28 PM

neither

Eimear O'Mahony
03-29-2009, 01:30 PM
That's because you spend half the night online Maria  I'd be in bed all day too if I did that :p Yeah, some people are incredibly passionate about history. I did like history and I was good at it but I just never pursued it or had any great favourites

Masha91
03-29-2009, 01:32 PM
neither

I will NEVER skip without a good reason! Besides there are like less than twenty people in the class and my Russian lecturer will notice if "Masha" is not there sitting front and centre as she always is every week!

Eimear O'Mahony
03-29-2009, 01:32 PM
Good choice Dave. I like it

Eimear O'Mahony
03-29-2009, 01:33 PM
Does it not get tiresome being that good Maria? I was like that in secondary school, sitting front and centre, but I soon realised how bad it was and I look back on those days with shame

I know, even before I got into the net I always stayed up late. I went to bed at four this morning

I always liked Tudor history because of Anne and anything ancient.

Eimear O'Mahony
03-29-2009, 01:33 PM

No, not really. Even in the UQ centre that seats hundreds I do the same thing, front and centre. Not shameful at all, I'm an

Eimear O'Mahony
03-29-2009, 01:34 PM
I never could do that ... I know I did it the night before last but that was different. Most nights I'm in bed by 1 or 2 at the very latest unless the tennis is on

I have to admit i skip classes when i know i can get away with it :o and if i won't fall behind on the lessons :o. It's so stressful studying here. I'm not really a studying person but my whole class is filled with people who would study from 8am-8pm on a holiday! :o

Wow, for that long? My friend Amelia is like that, I remember her telling me about her dream guy and the most important thing was that he has to be smart and study with her all the time!

Eimear O'Mahony
03-29-2009, 01:38 PM
Yeah exactly Dave. In my last year in uni I didn't attend a single Spanish lecture and I STILL finished 2nd in the class in Spanish :p They don't give a shit in uni! I skipped classes left, right and centre. You have to learn to have fun sometime and uni was it for me :)

Eimear O'Mahony
03-29-2009, 01:42 PM
It was my 10th year doing Spanish and the others, bar the girl who finished top, had only been doing Spanish for 3 years so we were heads and shoulders above them and knew all the stuff anyway. Maria, skiving really is fun. You should try it sometime. Go wild

Eimear O'Mahony
03-29-2009, 01:44 PM
But, to be honest, the REAL reason I didn't go to a lecture was because I was boycotting that particular lecturer's lessons because she fucked up my year in France

Oh and I'm lots of fun! ;)

Well actually one time in year eight, one of the other girls accidentally changed into my uniform instead of hers after class (don't know what happened there) but anyway I didn't find this out till later so I had to attend the rest of my classes in only my togs and a towel!

Masha91

Brisbane actually. We're going through a drought and have water restrictions here.

orangehat
03-29-2009, 02:12 PM
ouch. that must be quite annoying to have to stick to some limit. At least you still can shower though. I remember when i went to Malaysia for some CIP (community involvement programme) and the place we went was so horrible we didn't shower for a few days :o

Masha91
03-29-2009, 02:13 PM
You do get used to it although it's a bit tricky for me when I have to wash my hair because it's so long. That's true in some places around the world there's no water pressure, so four minutes is better than nothing.

orangehat
03-29-2009, 02:16 PM
yea i need at least 10 minutes coz i have to wash my hair everyday. It's so oily at times!! :o

Masha91
03-29-2009, 02:20 PM
I see, well you should do it if it's really oily, however, if it's not too bad washing your hair everyday can actually make it lose moisture.

Davodus
03-29-2009, 02:20 PM
i only need 4 mins anyway

orangehat
03-29-2009, 02:22 PM
i used to be able to do it in something like 4 mins and my parents would always think i didn't wash myself properly :o

Masha91
03-29-2009, 02:23 PM
I suppose it's not too bad to wash your hair everyday if it's that oily if you use a mild shampoo or one specifically for oily hair. Concentrate on the roots too.

Masha91
03-29-2009, 02:24 PM

Hormonal changes can factor into it especially with skin I always have to buy skin products that say "no added oil" on the label for my troublesome T-zone!

Davodus
03-29-2009, 02:42 PM
was he serenading you with white roses?

Masha91
03-29-2009, 02:45 PM

No! It wasn't nearly as interesting as my other tennis dreams but the thing was that it was a French speaking dream! We spoke in French about Nole :rolls:

Masha91
03-29-2009, 02:48 PM
White roses represent innocence and purity so that really would be very appropriate for me though!

Davodus
03-29-2009, 02:49 PM
oh cool
now you are dreaming in other languages
awesome

Masha91
03-29-2009, 02:50 PM
Yes, and about tennis too! I think I spend too much time on here

Davodus
03-29-2009, 02:52 PM
you can never spend too much time on here
its where all the fun is at

Masha91
03-29-2009, 02:54 PM
Yeah so true, so my first fully French dream involved speaking to a French tennis player talking about a Serbian tennis player! It's my first Richie dream, I think. I've had heaps about Nole. One involved a dinosaur, Cedward, Cho Chang, Bella Swan and impeccable driving skills on my part oh and I had a job too, weird.

Davodus
03-29-2009, 02:56 PM
hahahaha
wow vivid dreams though
i have almost never had a dream in my life...well im sure i have i just never ever remember them

Masha91
03-29-2009, 02:58 PM
Yeah you probably do have them.

I always remember my dreams, I had this really nice one about BB once!

Davodus
03-29-2009, 03:02 PM
good old BB
im sure i do but never remember them
i remember one dream i ever had and it was about a test the next day...thats about it for me

Masha91
03-29-2009, 03:05 PM
He's good but not old  Though he wasn't so good in my dream, he wanted to go back to the hotel on our wedding night straight away before taking me out for dinner/cake first! For shame!

The test ones are common, I believe.

Davodus
03-29-2009, 03:09 PM
you had a slutty dream about BB!
oh my gosh hahahahahahahahahahaha

yeah well that night i had a test at 11:15 the next day
so i was going to uni at 9:30 to get there by 10ish
and be ready which meant getting up at night
but as i had been studying all week i couldnt sleep that night, and i didnt sleep til 5:30am! then i had a dream that i didnt get there in time and then i fell asleep during the test

Masha91
03-29-2009, 03:13 PM
It wasn't a slutty dream! Nothing happened. I won our first married argument and he did take me out to dinner though just as I was about to eat the cake I got woken up!

Haha, messed up sleeping patterns. I know what it's like.

Davodus
03-29-2009, 03:15 PM
ok it was a little slutty though since it involved the thought of sex

yeah, i dont remember the last time i went to bed before midnight
except when i had jetlag

Masha91
03-29-2009, 03:17 PM
Yeah but then I got woken up, I guess I'll never lose my dream virginity now!

Same, I never go to bed at night. Always sometime in the morning.

Davodus
03-29-2009, 03:20 PM
yep
it is kind of annoying, i wish i was one of those people who slept by 11 easily, but then i could never watch tennis

Masha91
03-29-2009, 03:23 PM
Who needs sleep when there's tennis?

Davodus
03-29-2009, 03:24 PM
exactly! i function better on 3 hours sleep than i do on 6
until its about 7 or 8 and night then i start getting tired

Masha91
03-29-2009, 03:25 PM
Hmm yes the unusual sleeping patterns of a tennis fan!

Wouldn't have it any other way.

Davodus
03-29-2009, 03:28 PM
well i ddont like getting up in the morning and just seeing a score
i like to know how it went down

so yes

Oh no, the first time it's ever happened and my first year there!

Shall I repeat it again? I'M TERRIBLY VEXED!

Davodus
03-29-2009, 03:40 PM
maybe you are bad luck for everyone!
no i will have bad luck, considering out of 9 exams ive had at uni in end of semesters, only 2 have been in week two
this time, all 4 will be!

Masha91
03-29-2009, 03:42 PM
You made me sad!

I'll have to send someone after you to teach you a lesson!

Davodus
03-29-2009, 03:44 PM
who is going to teach me, the braun, a lesson

Masha91
03-29-2009, 03:45 PM
BB! He's so strong! Seriously, have you seen his thighs?

Davodus
03-29-2009, 03:47 PM
you don't actually know him though :p

Masha91
03-29-2009, 03:48 PM
I will one day!

For now, I'll just send my friend who bites people.

Davodus
03-29-2009, 03:49 PM
that is so revolting, i can't believe they bit you

Masha91
03-29-2009, 03:51 PM
 I'm not the first one she's bitten either. My other friend actually cut our other friend with a knife though so a bite isn't too bad.

Davodus
03-29-2009, 03:54 PM
they CUT them?
pretty sure that's assault
tell your friends to settle down a bit

Masha91
03-29-2009, 03:55 PM
Not too deeply it was all done in jest it's called "the love slice", we're a funny bunch!

Davodus
03-29-2009, 03:57 PM
the love slice
i dunno about that, i don't find harming others funny

actually i do, so long as im not on the receiving end

Masha91
03-29-2009, 03:59 PM
I'm sure it didn't hurt it was only lightly and there wasn't a drop of blood!

Just a subtle grazing of the blade.

Davodus
03-29-2009, 04:00 PM
 still! trying to inflict a bit of harm
was it tessa

Masha91
03-29-2009, 04:02 PM
Haha no! These were my friends at Schoolies when they got drunk this happened just before I saved them from the strange tasting lollipops!

Davodus
03-29-2009, 04:03 PM
:haha: oh your heroic acts to save them from the lolly pops with the unpleasant squirts! i remember now :p

Masha91
03-29-2009, 04:05 PM
Yeah, I should totally get a medal for that! Or get a lollipop made of pure gold

I actually saw a packet of those squirts in the shops the other day I'll never think of them the same way again!

Davodus
03-29-2009, 04:11 PM
:haha: i bet, they have scarred you for life..well i have

well i can't help the way my mind works

Masha91
03-29-2009, 04:12 PM
Yes, you've corrupted me the good Catholic girl, I hope you're happy now!

Davodus
03-29-2009, 04:14 PM
 i am not sure its good catholicism to be wanting to marry a 41 year old felon! :p

Masha91
03-29-2009, 04:15 PM
Well, it's marriage nothing scandalous! Poor BB, everyone seems to forget about how good a tennis player he was

6 grand slams!

Davodus
03-29-2009, 04:17 PM
pretty good achievement yes, but he did do illegal things too!

Masha91
03-29-2009, 04:19 PM
He won Wimbledon as an unseeded seventeen year old but everyone seems to think of the broom closet incident ahead of that!

Davodus
03-29-2009, 04:20 PM
so is that why you like sharapova? the 17 year old thing :p

Masha91
03-29-2009, 04:21 PM
Haha no, that was just coincidental and I don't like her in that way!

Davodus
03-29-2009, 04:29 PM

Hi Eim! how's your day so far? I hope it isn't as bad as mine..

Eimear O'Mahony
03-30-2009, 09:37 AM
Morning Luke. I've only woken up so it hasn't had a chance to go wrong yet  What's happened your day hun?

orangehat
03-30-2009, 09:46 AM
Well to start off the day (and it was the end of the day) was my swimming lesson in school for P.E. After i had only been in water for like 5 mins, i was on the edge of the pool ( the part where it is slightly elevated as compared to the bottom of the pool where you can "stand" and be above the surface) and kicked off it. The edge was extremely sharp for some reason and left a huge tear in my sole which needed a few stitches. Now i'm out of school for 3 days + i can't even walk at the moment.

Eimear O'Mahony
03-30-2009, 09:48 AM
Oh Luke you poor thing  That sounds really painful  Aw hunny!!! I'm really REALLY sorry to hear that. Hopefully it'll be better before you know it. Are you taking any medication for the pain?

orangehat
03-30-2009, 09:50 AM
no unfortunately, because it doesn't hurt unless i apply pressure onto the cut (which becomes excruciatingly painful). So at the moment i'm just hopping around the house and i'll probably go rent a crutch from the nearest hospital later... thanks for the concern though :D

Eimear O'Mahony
03-30-2009, 09:51 AM
Make sure you get a crutch or something to take the weight off your foot for a little while. I'm surprised they didn't give you anything while you were getting your stitches

orangehat
03-30-2009, 09:54 AM
there was just a jab to numb the area (i think that's what it was for, i was still kinda in shock to ask. There was like a pool of blood in the changing room because the first dressing done by the teacher wasn't tight enough and it was bleeding) but apart from that it wasn't that pain except when i forget that my foot's bleeding  and place it on the floor

Eimear O'Mahony
03-30-2009, 09:59 AM
Oh you mean like a local anaesthetic type thing? You weren't sleep but you got an injection to numb the area so they could put the stitches in? You poor thing  Did they not give you crutches or anything there so you wouldn't have to put your foot on the ground?

orangehat
03-30-2009, 10:00 AM
well the clinic doesn't have crutches (apparently no clinic has, and only a few pharmacies might have) which means i'll have to go over to the hospital near my house for one. I guess it could have been something like a local anaesthetic, but i'm not sure because they normally don't do that quite often.

Eimear O'Mahony
03-30-2009, 10:05 AM
That sucks you have to go all that way. Although, in fairness, we can only get crutches in hospitals too. They don't have them in doctor's surgeries or schools. Yeah, we use local anaesthetics all the time when stitches are put in. It would be WAY too painful otherwise

orangehat
03-30-2009, 10:09 AM
yea. anyway i'm just kinda annoyed coz there are so many tests next week but i can't go to school

Eimear O'Mahony
03-30-2009, 10:11 AM
Surely they'll allow you to do them when you come back? You won't lose any marks or anything I hope?

Davodus
03-30-2009, 10:17 AM
you could totally sue the school for medical costs :p

hi eimear and luke, btw

Eimear O'Mahony
03-30-2009, 10:19 AM
Hi Dave  How're you today?

orangehat
03-30-2009, 10:20 AM
hi dave. well the costs are subsidised, but apart from that i have nothing .

Eim: Well i should be back in school next week, the problem is i'll lose all the practices this week.

Eimear O'Mahony
03-30-2009, 10:23 AM
Oh so you'll miss all the mock tests and things? That sucks but maybe some of your friends would bring you the papers and you could work on them at home?

Davodus
03-30-2009, 10:23 AM
im pretty good yeah eimear, despite the fact ana and ALG lost last night :o
but at least ALG played really well and only lost to venus 7-5 6-3 :)
how are you?

Eimear O'Mahony
03-30-2009, 10:26 AM
Yeah I was looking at the results and thinking that at least Anna had done herself justice against Venus. I don't know what happened to Ana though. Yeah I'm good thanks. I'm still stuck in bed the lazy bitch that I am  I'm going to get up in half an hour to get my stuff ready for swimming

orangehat
03-30-2009, 10:28 AM

Yea i guess i'll have to do that but it's kinda troublesome coz most of my classmates/friends live quite far from my home.

Davodus

yeah ALG has played venus twice and won a total of 5 games in those two matches put together, and she did way better than both of them in one match today so im happy :)
ana herself said it was her worst match of the year by a long way, and she did nothing right so woooo :woohoo: :retard:

hahahaha lazy is the way of the future! but good on you for planning to go swimming

You poor thing Luke  I really do feel sorry for you and I probably shouldn't have mentioned swimming. Sorry! Ana really needs to take stock of her career right now I think Dave. It's just not happening for her. Yup I'm in a lazy mood today. Also feeling a bit emotional but I don't know why. I hope swimming will clear my head a bit and make me feel somewhat better

ana had been on and off this year
she has never played well in miami in her life, she hates it there, so im not too concerned.

Emotional? maybe because gilles is playing tsonga and you are finding it hard to pick
but im of course big time going for gilles :D

orangehat
03-30-2009, 10:34 AM

Well let's just hope she can pick it up during the clay court season. I'm going for Gilles too. I love Jo as well but my loyalty lies with Gilles ... after all it was following him that started off the whole Frenchie thing so I'm not going to abandon him now. So no  It's one of those days where you feel like crying but you're not sure why. Weird!

I'm going on my own today I think. My friend can't go but I think I'll go anyway because fuck it I might as well and sometimes I prefer swimming on my own because I don't have to worry about my friend not swimming as many lengths as me and having to wait for her

I'm sure ana will pick it up...jankovic on the other hand ;) :p

gilles needs the win more IMO, i think he has played well so far minus one set against rainer, so im optimistic :D

Don't wait for your friend to keep up with you even if she is there, just keep going and do more :p

Eimear O'Mahony

I'm so used to doing exercise on my own to be honest Luke because my friend works until late evening most days so I end up just going myself. Even when my friend comes swimming with me we usually just do our own thing so it's like swimming on my own anyway so I'm used to it

Hey I didn't criticise Ana so leave Jay Jay alone :p  Well I like them both so ... No I think Jankovic needs to take a few months off and look after her Mam for a while and then come back and try and concentrate on her tennis. Yeah, Gilles DEFINITELY needs the win more. It'll do his confidence the world of good. Jo didn't play especially well last night so I think Gilles will be okay. I don't wait most of the time. I usually end up doing 16-20 lengths to her 10 so I'm way ahead of her

Omg i hate ana! i think she hasn't played any better this year than the 2nd half of last year though :p that IW final was just a fluke.

it's a saying for the ana fans on her forum page on wta world
i think she is playing better this year than last year 2nd year (like USO against coin :tape:)
IW final wasnt a fluke she just plays well there, and got a fairly good draw

orangehat
03-30-2009, 11:07 AM
yea her draw was :help:. I couldn't see any increase in skill of the opponent all the way until the Quarterfinals then she got Pavlyuchenkova for the semis :help:

Eimear O'Mahony
03-30-2009, 11:08 AM
Oh God I feel sick ... I just got an appointment letter there now for the 2nd opinion on my knee. I have to see the consultant next week

Davodus
03-30-2009, 11:09 AM
well pavlyuchenkova did beat jankovic and radwanska to get there, so that was not ana's fault
but she played a good semi, then let the wind beat her in the final
even if you don't like her, you have to admit she is talented ;)

Davodus

Eimear O'Mahony
03-30-2009, 11:15 AM
Thanks guys  I know its just a consulatation but still ... it's SCARY!!! If he tells me I need the knee replacement now I think I'll just die  Right ... back to the important stuff ... Ivanovic. I do like her and I do think she's talented. I think maybe she needs more of a personality to get people to like her more. I think that's why Jankovic is the more popular of the two because she has such a bright and bubbly personality

Eimear O'Mahony
03-30-2009, 11:16 AM

jankovic is absolutely not the more popular of the two
well certainly not here, and not with fans at the tournaments ive been to
ana is LOVED. She is so friendly and kind, and will do anything to make fans happy. The reason some people hate her is because of her oncourt behaviour, all the fist pumping and squealing and ajde'ing  but i love it :p

just think that this could be the guy who actually fixes your knee for good! it would be good to be able to live pain free again, so think positive!

Eimear O'Mahony
03-30-2009, 11:30 AM
Ah right ... I didn't realise that. I don't really follow the WTA Tour so I think I just presumed Jankovic was the more popular. Don't ask why  Yeah, I have to admit that much as I love Ana and watching her play I'm not to gone on the fist pumping, squealing etc etc ... I find things like that SOOO annoying. Even in men's tennis I hate rafa's Vamos and all that. There's no need for it and it's just done purely for show imo. Thanks Dave. That is a good way to look at it :D You're absolutely right

Davodus
03-30-2009, 11:36 AM
i can see why her on court behaviour would annoy people, but i like it because it's cute :p
but i also don't like rafa's vamos, mainly because his voice sounds so high pitch when he does it

positivity leads to good results eimear ;) so theres no need to get worried!

Eimear O'Mahony
03-30-2009, 11:40 AM
Yeah I'll be grand. I just wish it was over with now to be honest. But hopefully things will move quickly now and I can get back to work and everything quickly. I hate all that kind of stuff. Lleyton used to do my head in as well. I'm just glad none of the Frenchies get like that on the court otherwise I don't think I could watch them

Davodus
03-30-2009, 11:42 AM
lleyton would die if i played him
the lawn mower action with the ground would make me rage!
and tsonga does kind of do it :p and the dance at the end :p

you will have to tell me how your consultation goes...hopefully all well, and he/she has the perfect fix!

Eimear O'Mahony
03-30-2009, 11:45 AM
It's a he :p And yes of course I'll tell you how it goes. I'm touched you care enough to ask me  Yeah Tsonga is the only Frenchie who does it although Gael was funny last night getting the crowd going. It just seemed 'cute' I don't know why. Maybe because it seemed genuine and not done for show whereas Rafa's is purely done for show as does Lleyton

orangehat
03-30-2009, 11:45 AM
woah there cool down dave!

Yeah Eim I hope everything goes well too!

Davodus
03-30-2009, 11:49 AM
sorry luke :p i like lleyton of course, the only australian man with any talent at the moment
but i don't like the lawn mower
safin choked big against gael didn't he eimear?

Eimear O'Mahony
03-30-2009, 11:50 AM

have a good swim eimear! you should do a timed 200 fly, for fun :p

Eimear O'Mahony
03-30-2009, 11:51 AM
It was a combination of Safin choking and Gael upping his level at the right time. He got REALLY pumped up. He was helped big-time by Safin choking both times he served for the match though

Davodus
03-30-2009, 11:54 AM
silly marat!
400 free :o my training sessions used to be at least a 1km warm up, before we got into the main part of the sessions and did 3 or 4 hard work sets, usually 1 heart rate set :p try that!

orangehat
03-30-2009, 11:57 AM
dave that is hardcore :o. ahaha i remember i always tried to slack during my swimming lessons :p.

Davodus
03-30-2009, 11:59 AM
well it had to be hardcore when you are training for competition, like nationals and all that
but it got a bit much 10 times a week, 2 hours per session, plus weights/dry land work

although, i might be making a comeback

orangehat
03-30-2009, 12:01 PM

Of course, you're far too nice. :p

One of the guys in my class was wearing a light blue shirt so now everyone refers to him as the "guy in the gay shirt"

my birthday kinda sucks. Every year without fail it falls on 1 of my exams (coz that period is around when singapore holds exams)

Oh dear, once I had a French exam on my birthday. I think uni is finished for the year when it comes to my birthday this year.

you should hire out centre court at the brisbane international tennis centre, and have a tennis themed party :p

Masha91

Yes, I'll make everyone dress up as their favourite tennis player! As fantastic as that sounds unfortunately my friends aren't into tennis the only tennis player they know is Nole.

Yes, I did. He's playing that guy who was up two sets to love against Fed in the Oz Open before choking. No no, I'm sorry but yeah I did see his next opponent. I saw some of the match before I had to go to uni today.

Davodus
03-30-2009, 01:03 PM
:ras:
he didnt choke because federer picked up his game! and when federer plays well no one can beat him so :ras:
tomas played pretty well today, particularly off his backhand :p it will be interesting

Masha91
03-30-2009, 01:06 PM
All right, all right. I didn't see that bit when Federer went behind my mother turned the TV off she couldn't bear to see her favourite lose and when we turned it on again Federer had won!

Not even Rafa? :p

Davodus
03-30-2009, 01:08 PM
not even rafa!
and i was at the match so i know federer turned around his game :ras:
there was a choke by tomas in 1 game to get broken though...5 game points and he got broken

Didn't you have to leave it early though?

When some players are on they're on like Serena at the AO against Dinara and Masha S against Justine at the AO last year!
