an interview published in the newspaper "La Nación", Buenos Aires, Argentina:

a raugh translation: "Coria, back to the activity after three months, due to a shoulder surgery, said 'this is a prize to the work, and, it's awesome for Argentina to have three singles players here, beacause we haven't the money the others countries has'
"Roland Garros runner-up, whom in the last hours trained with Federer and Moya also said 'I played several pionts and I felt good, confortable, and I was fast, that gave me confidence. I am not in my best time, I was inactive for so many time, plus, I will start against Safin, who is the big candidate to win the masters.' Besides, Coria said that after the Masters will begin the pre-season with the spaniard coach José Perlas"

He said his condition is ok now, but why has difficulty with serve, isn't a psychological problem? maybe he is worrying to be injured again, so he's afraid to put himself on the 100%? But his doctor said it'll be fine while he plays more matches...

:o What are you talking about. This kid hardly ever double-faulted, and his first serve percentage was always high, like 65-75%. Anyway, he's probably having "trouble" serving cuz he hasn't gotten the exact rhythm he had before yet. But the main point is that it doesn't hurt, and he can get the ball in play.

though he lost, like KFB said, he was happy he could play the entire match and was smiling when he lost :) the factor was definitely his serves

Did anyone post this interview? Anyway, I saw this from the Tennis Master Cup website.

An Interview with Guillermo Coria
November 16, 2004

Q. I just wondered, in view of your injury and the preparation you had coming here, is there any chance that you may leave the tournament now, or will you see it through?

CORIA: Zero possibilities I won't play.

Q. Could you look back at Safin's match.

CORIA: His level didn't surprise me at all. He's been playing very good, so his level didn't surprise me.

I didn't play too well in the first set, so I was not too happy about that. I was a little bit scared of my arm, and that didn't allow me to be as focused as I should have been.

I loosened up a little bit in the second set, and I'm very happy because I'm leaving that match without any kind of pain or without any kind of feeling the arm.

Q. I wanted to ask about the announcement that they're going to have safeguarded nutritional supplements in the drinks, the program they are going to announce at 6 o'clock; GlaxoSmithKline will take precautions to make sure there's no tainted, contaminated items that you might take. My question is in light of what happened with you, how important do you think this is? How big a step is this?

CORIA: I think it's a very important step that the ATP is doing for the players to be calm, and for them.

Q. It's very brave of you to come to the Masters Cup after not having played for something like five months. On a different note, do you think the Masters Cup should be played on clay?

CORIA: No. No, not really. Because if you're coming from a long swing in indoor or hard court, it doesn't make sense to suddenly play a tournament on clay.

But it still would be interesting that it would be done on clay for my own advantage (smiling).

It wasn't just the lack of rhythm. His serve, I mean, the motion is not completely the same. If you see it carefully you'll see that he's rotating (sp?) his shoulders really fast instead of letting his arm free and do the work, am you kno what i mean? It's understandable anyway because he was afraid it'd hurt or something but his serve was definitely not good.
But I think what ataptc said was not completely wrong because what she meant was that Guille's serve was never really good anyways (before or after the surgery that is), i mean it's never been his main weapon or so and even though it is good it's not great so I'd say she's right :p

Besides that... I'm really REALLY happy with the way Guille played his match (especially the second set of course) :D I'm glad he's injury has completely healed and he's ready to come back :)
Good luck Willy against Tim :D:D
