grigor has won his match against steve darcis 7:6 (5) 7:6 (4)
very similar to the match yesterday, in the first set he got a break when 4:2 up, in the second he was behind 5 games to 3, this time he managed to win the tiebreaks at least :D
as fognini has lost agains dasnieres de veigy (6:0 in the third ;) ), grigor has a big chance to reach the main draw

Nice win today after not much recovery time. Great to see him come back in the second set. He's got a very good chance of moving on to the main draw. No time for a letdown tomorrow :)

Great win today especially as Darcis served for the 2nd set but Grigor toughed it out and broke back. I hope he still has enough fuel in the tank tomorrow because Desnieres is a good draw for him.

He's currently at #50 in the Live rankings

Grigor Dimitrov def. Steve Darcis 76 76 in Bercy. Next qualifying round vs Dasnieres de Vegy tomorrow. http://pbs.twimg.com/media/A6Psa6UCEAAL72V.jpg:large

@adel1609 Wow! Está mirando fíjamente a la cámara... lo tienes hipnotizado! :D

@genny_ss lol Took it during the last TB. He was really focused, didn't want to lose the match. Very different attitude from Fabio's. :p

He's off to a great start. 6-2 and he only dropped one point on 1st serve. Let's hope he can stay as focused in the 2nd set.

with these 35 points he should be top 50 at the end of the year for sure, and nearly more important, he will be ahead of tomic ;)

Let's not go there, it just looks petty when you make comments like that. The only thing that's important is for Grigor to keep playing well. ;)

Given his current form, Mayer looks like the easiest draw but this is the last big tournament of the year so everyone will be trying their best. I just hope he has a day's rest as I'm sure he will be tired right now.

He plays Melzer 1st round. If he comes through that, he has a re-match with Monaco.

The good news is he has a day's rest as he's not playing tomorrow.

Best spot for qualified I think.

i think so, too. Melzer has not had a very good year and should not be invincible although he played solid last week. I thought that monaco would be a good matchup for grigor but last time he was destroyed by monaco so it would be interesting to see the rematch

Melzer is a crafty, experienced player who loves playing indoors so it's going to be tough. I think Mayer would have been the easier draw. If he can win this match, I think he has a good chance to gain revenge against Monaco. By all accounts, he played terribly in their last match and was carrying an injury. He seems to be on a mission at the moment and it would be a different story this time.

I'm just pleased with his attitude at the moment, so whatever happens, he should finish the year on a high and build on this next year.

Well it looks like everything with Mouratoglou is over and now he is travelling with another coach from the academy - Jean-François Bachelot, who said that at the end of the year they will have to make a decision if they will continue to work together in 2013 or Grigor will be looking for another coach. So it looks like he is just filling in for Mouratoglou, but if they decide they might continue together :) Looks like he will never get out of that academy or at least any time soon ...

PS: I think soon he will be out of choices because he probably already worked with every single coach there - maybe Hingis is the last one that wasn't Grigor's coach :D :D :D :D

Great win for Grigor! Revenge would be sweet against Monaco - something tells me he's up for the challenge this time around. It's a slow surface which favors the Argentinian, but if Grigor serves well and plays aggressively he can end Monaco's season. Good luck! :)

I had to leave at the end of first set, he was playing well then. So did he mess it up (give up) in 2nd set or Pico was too (frustratingly) solid?

Monaco was solid and wasn't making almost any mistakes, Grigor was making a lot and Monaco break for 3-0 lead. Grisho hold serve two times, but at 2-5 got broken again.

Unfortunately he didn't come out on top today - too bad because I thought that he would be able to take Monaco. Well I think given the fact that he won three matches here we can't be too disappointed. He's definitely shown the ability to raise his level of play the last couple of months and is improving steadily. The future is bright :)
