yep it was, think it was channel 7...and it was at a decent time as well since China is pretty much the same time zone. I think it was because Hewitt was there cos we didn't get Houston last year. I checked the latest weather report from Houston and it says cloudy, no rain as of 20 minutes ago. Perhaps there is still drizzle...

I have Eurosport on now, and they're showing a replay of the Roddick - Henman match, and they have this little picture saying there's rain in Houston... But maybe it has indeed stopped raining and they're just waiting for the court to dry up a little bit? I hope they will start playing soon!

I really hope Gaston wins that match, but it is unlikely, unfortunatly. :( Good job to Carlos. :) What he did was a achievement tonight. Since his 1st set loss to Agassi in TMC RR last year, Federer had won 16 straight sets at this tournement, and Carlos snapped that streak and almost broke his 20 match winning streak against top 10 opponents, so good for him. :)

Well, even though Moya's basically out of this tournement, and will not win it, he's still going to bring home a Davis Cup trophy for Spain, so we can still be happy. :) He's had a great year, this year. :)

Gaston can challenge Hewitt, and he leads the h2h 3-2, it should be 4-1. He'll need to play very well, and hit alot of high backhands to Hewitt's backhand (he hates that) and we may very well see Carlos in the semis. :)

before the MC many ppl were wondering if Carles would be enough recovered from his shoulder. Right now we know he is not only recovered but playing great tennis as well, sadly his lack of matchplay was the key in his matches against Lleyton and Roger. He was so close but he missed the BIG points. :sad: It's understandable considering how many months he spent without playing... But now we could be sure about who will be the leader of the spanish team at Sevilla next month.

I can't wait to see Carlitos "pateándole el culo a Andy" :devil:

I'm somehow really proud of Carlos today!
Sure he lost in the end, but he didn't go down without fighting and made Federer earn the victory.

No matter what people say ("Federer served badly", "Federer played very late last night", "Federer made too many unforced errors"...) etc, but for me Carlos really earned this 2nd set and was playing not only great tennis in the 2nd set.

I was really pleased with Carlos' performance... at the end, Roger was just too good and didn't get broken again despite Carlos had chances to come back in the third set.

Yeah, Carlos did great this year in this not so liked TMC. Remember how bad he looked last year in Huston. So a rest is good and he's refreshed. His forehand looks good! Roger can't match that so he made more errors than he usually does. But Roger is still better in placement, he's still so precise when he needs it.
I like the fact that Carlos played two tough matches against two hot players. But Carlos has not won one close match against top 10 in the last couple years so it's a problem with his confident level and mind, not a lack of match play I think. I even think the long rest is good to regroup Carlos' game.

At least he's in good shape for Davis Cup. And he looks hot. So, all in all, I think we can consider this tournament a success. :D Well said :yeah: :lol:

ok well I didn't even realise Carlos was playing last night against Rogi! This time difference really pisses me off lol. 14 hours it too much for me. Looks like he pushed Rogi tho! Took a set off him! Now we have to rely on Gaston :rolleyes: to beat Hewitt, which sadly I don't think will happen, but oh well...at least we can see that Carlos is fit and well and ready for Seville :yeah:

I don't think is harsh at all, loret. "morder el polvo" in a literal translation might sound harsh but it really means just "to lose".

I thought it was really disgusting the way Gston played . . . if he was so hurt (?) or whatever then he should have pulled from the match all together. What a waste of time to watch. He didn't even break a sweat . . .

Well, even Guille played with more effort! And he had nothing to gain! Maybe a bigger paycheck, but nothing more!

Anyway.....Carlos played 3 great matches I'm proud! :worship: Maybe the lack of matches was a reason....like Roger said:" It's a pity. I think he had chances against both of us(hewitt&federer) to win. He ended up losing, and that's maybe because he's coming back from injury."

yeah i think if it wasn't for the lack of matches over the last few weeks he would have beaten Hewitt, i still don't think he would have beaten roger as roger always steps it up when he needs to :worship:

I don't think that that will happen either, but still... Carlos played very well this week! That must give him a confidence boost for Sevilla!

At one point, when it was 4-1 for Carlos in the second set, Roger was playing very bad, and the commentator guy said that it looked like Roger was tanking the set... Come on, he could've at least given Carlos some credit! :rolleyes: I don't think that he was tanking though... he was just playing badly!

Oh, and Roger was scared of the grasshopper :lol: They had to get a ball kid to get it off the court, too funny!
I dont think Roger was afraid of it, he just didn't want to hurt it. ;)
