2012 Asian Swing: KL, Tokyo, Shanghai

09-27-2012, 01:40 PM
So Kei is starting the Asian swing by playing at the Malaysian Open.

Kei had a BYE first round.

His 2nd round match was against Albert Ramos, where Kei won 6-7(5), 6-2, 6-1
Ramos was up 2-0 in the second set and it looked like Kei had to work hard.... so typical Kei!
i only watched the first set and got kinda bored *hides* lol

but anyways, i am happy that Kei is through to the next round, where he will meet Nikolay Davydenko!

09-27-2012, 02:29 PM
Thanks for creating the thread, bee91

I almost believed that Kei wasn't playing this week because the 1st rd BYE didn't come to mind, I thought maybe he wanted more time to recover.
Good thing I check results on most days and just caught his match.

It wasn't that exciting but still kept my attention for the whole match.
He lost to the eventual champion Janko in the semis last year so I hope he can go all the way this time, lots of crowd support here too.

Look forward to the next one.

Kei's starting to appear in more promotional poster and banners, cool shot.

09-28-2012, 06:50 AM
no worries Chewy :)

i know what you mean, i kept on checking when Kei was playing, then i realised he had a bye. i actually forgot that the tournament had started haha

but yeah i hope he goes all the way too, i am loving that he has so much crowd support behind him, would be so good to see Kei win it!

09-28-2012, 10:30 AM
Kei defeated Davydenko 6-4 ret.

I was actually enjoying that match, such a shame it had to end that way... hope Davydenko is alright!
but nevertheless Kei is through to the next round!

09-29-2012, 03:50 AM
I only watched a few quick rallies cause I had to stay back at work and couldn't really focus.
And it did look quite promising, poor Davy hope will recover soon.

He didn't play well against Juan Monaco in the last encounter, not sure what to expect here.

09-29-2012, 09:28 AM
Kei lost 6-2, 2-6, 7-6(4)

how disappointing, he was so close to winning. i honestly thought Kei was going to win the match... credit to Monaco though for not giving up. i thought the rally's were fun to watch... ahh what a chance for Kei!

anyways off to Tokyo for Kei now... hrmm i dont really like that Kei is playing Soeda in the first round, last time they met Kei lost... Kei you better beat him this time! though i wonder who the crowd will be cheering for haha!

09-29-2012, 04:54 PM
Una pena! Se le escapo el partido a Kei en el 5-3...

09-29-2012, 10:16 PM
What a shame indeed! The fact that he had match point was probably stuck in his mind when he played the last few games.
At one stage I thought it was certain Kei will lose the match, then at 5-3 I though the win was in the bag.
It seems when I gave up on Kei he starts to come back, then vice versa...

Monaco was on and off but he did fight till the end, and Kei choked it away.

Second stop on the Asian Swing trip - Tokyo

1st round, Kei def. Soeda in another come back victory 4-6 6-2 6-3.
Up next is veteran Robredo, will be their first meeting on tour.

10-03-2012, 12:23 AM
where is eeryone?

10-03-2012, 12:38 PM
Yay Kei beat Soeda, too bad I couldn't follow the match, I am stuck on my placement at the hospital with PM shift, so I won't be able to watch any matches until the weekend... so hopefully Kei will still be playing!

good luck to Kei tomorrow against Robredo!

Oh and Kei is partnered with Monaco in doubles and they are through to the 2nd round :D

10-04-2012, 11:00 AM
where is eeryone?

Bunny used to regularly post updates/draws/results...i miss that.
And it does seem like more people are absent from this part of the forum too.

10-04-2012, 11:06 AM
Good news, Kei def. Tommy Robredo in yet another come back after dropping the 1st set, 5-7 6-1 6-0.

Tokyo seems to start live stream from round 2, but my laptop was lagging so I couldn't really sit through it.

10-04-2012, 08:02 PM

That was probably the quickest SF win for Kei! Like the commentator said, he's in the zone right now.
FINAL showdown in Tokyo 2012!

I know Milos is in the final now, but do you guys have any preference who Kei plays in the final oyt of Murray and Raonic?

For me, initially it was Raonic, but watching how he handle Murray today was quite superb.
Hope Kei can stay in the zone for the final!

10-06-2012, 11:09 AM
fantastic win for Kei, I am so happy for him reaching the finals of a home tournament :)

tomorrow will be a tough match, I have that feeling Raonic will take it... I don't think Kei can handle Milos's serve :(
but I hope Kei proves me wrong, though he better haha!

Good Luck Kei!!

10-06-2012, 02:13 PM
Fantastic result:woohoo: Finally he could overcome against Marcos in the 4th attempt:D
No BP:eek:

Final against Milos is so tough for him:o But he has still good week:)

10-07-2012, 07:08 AM
Tokyo final

Kei took the 1st set 7-6(5), also had 2 set points at 5-4

10-07-2012, 07:35 AM
Raonic is very good at finding his serves after dropping the first point.
They are basically missiles with good placement...

10-07-2012, 08:17 AM
AMAZING WIN 7-6(5) 3-6 6-0

Overcame 14 aces and served a bagel to win his 2nd title and his first ATP 500
