He really has done pretty well in hanging in when his back has been to the wall - for the week. Good to see him fighting back, and hope to see him come in, playing closer to the baseline, and not constantly playing in the suburbs of Metz or whichever city he finds himself.

You know it's bad when you are outclowning Monfils. Good fight in the end from Gael, I didn't think he would be able to hold physically.

Pretty impressive to tough out this win after the long break. Keep it up Gael!

Monfils is so underrated indoors. He has a 70% win record. Compare that to Rafa's (Madrid indoors champion 2005) 64% and Berdych's (Paris Masters champion in 2005) 57%.

Nice match, glad that Gael gets to SF on his 1st tournament after the break :yeah: , usuall all his matches vs Kohli follow the same pattern, as they are usually tight with Kohli choking.

Unexpected that this match went to 3, Mugfils must have shown up in the first set :o Mugshscreiber is barely above journeyman level in skill, mentality, technique and that girly one handed BH doesn't help matters either. If Monfils utilized his atheleticm, his ability to hammer that forehand, and acquired a champion's mindset he'd have a much better career than some of the supposedly "talented" clown slam winners of today like Mugray.
