Cabezon finally gets it done in a very tough match and good to see the sportinguistas making plenty of noise since Gijón sucks at football.

Ferrer should get it done in the 4th match.

So once it went 5 sets, it really was almost NID that isner would lose. He really does have a horrible 5 set record

nico was the better player in the 5th set but isner's serve kept bailing him out, finally nico prevailed

terribe FH error by Isner at 5*-5 15-30 Almagro serving

Turrible. John should have taken that fifth set, had plenty of chances but all the rallies on important points ended with him hitting a forehand ten feet wide.

Tie over but who cares anyway.

Yep, Isner had his chances in the 5th. Interesting is, that both Isner and Querrey have played all their DC matches away on clay

Great Nico

Ready for visiting Rep Czech in December to fight for a new title. Hopefully Berdych and Stepanek destroy these argentinian mugs and avoid us to visit these stupid hooligans

Another tennis killer mug is packing his bags as we speak, and tennis fans can be delighted. Always great for the game when something like this happens. Talentless servebot.

The poor Bryans. They have virtually guaranteed the US a point in every tie for the last decade and have one DC because their singles players can't even break even.

Isner showed that with serve and desire you can take two sets off Almagro on clay. Really, John played bad today even for his standart apart from serve. And it`s a shame on court with such a high bounce.

The last few points were funny - easy miss at A-40 at net, then couldn`t find a court at net once again when Magro already was out of position and awful last forehand. Yep, that was funny.

Isner is the new James Blake. The man has massive weapons but does not know how to employ them.

Argentina knows how to create an atmosphere.

It should be forbidden to play with people yelling and moving like monkeys around players.

But, no problem, if Berdych and Steps don't finish their work we'll go there and destroy them one more time. No way we lose with Nadal and Ferru in team against a former player.

But if Czechs win their tie, be prepared to see ultra-fast indoor court in Czech Republic. And don't forget Czech team has a guy called Lukas Rosol.

lol amazing example of the pot calling the kettle black

the Spanish fans are no better than those argie "hooligans"

you are both a disgrace to sporting fairness and integrity, but thanks for the laughs with your hypocrisy

and for the record, lets see Spain v Argies this time on fast indoor with Kneedal playing.

Hope Rafa can make the final

Hope he can't so that the other Spaniards can get some credit for winning Davis Cup on their own without Rafa coming in to play the hero in the final.

and for the record, lets see Spain v Argies this time on fast indoor with Kneedal playing.

08 final was played on indoor hard as it's Rafa's worst surface. Well Rafa didn't play then. But if Argies got to final and Rafa's playing started to look likely (quite unlikely) I think they should have indoor hard court, DelPo could beat Rafa on fast court, not on clay. But if Rafa's playing doesn't look likely, they should have it on clay, DelPo can beat other Spaniards on any surface, Pico only on clay. On the other hand, if Nalby is then OK and playing well, better than Pico, maybe faster hard court would then be the best option, I don't think Nalby could beat Spaniards on clay.

Always great to see Isner lose. This mindless serve bot should learn to rally and return. The fact that a very good clay specialist like Almagro got pushed to 5 by this joker, simply shows how much clay has been sped up over the years :o

Mugro really should have won in 4 but he had his standard generosity, gifting a break at the end of the 2nd set.

At least Mugro won, I could definitely see him screwing himself in these close matches.

Most of the time, Isner was playing horrendously, no touch at the net, clown forehands, wild misses etc. His serve didn't malfunction though.

that just shows that apart Nadal there is no good clay specialist anymore, Mugro, Verdasco (tactically stupid players) and Monaco etc are all clowns compared to the clay specialists of the early 2000's.
