Wrong.

2006. Enough said.

A clown wielding a frying pan instead of a racquet could dominate mugs Olderer fluked his titles from (except on clay - good on Rafa for denying Server calendar slam, would have been an epic fiasco to see that sissy winning it).

The coincidental thing is that the first slam of the year was won by the man who occupied the #1 spot on the ATP rankings heading into the tournament (Djokovic - Australian Open), the second slam was won by the #2 ranked player (Nadal - French Open), the third slam was won by the #3 ranked player at the time (Federer - French Open) and the fourth slam was won by the #4 ranked player in the world (Murray - US Open).

Ranking at the start of the tournament that is - obviously there were ranking changes between the top 4 players after Wimbledon and the US Open

This is a first, at least after computer rankings were introduced in 1973.

2003 ended with the four major winners ranked 1-4, but they were not ranked as high during the tournaments.

hmm, that's similar but not quite the same

looks like it's a first, probably because of the machine like consistency of the top 4 in this era

lol i too didn't noticed the typo of "Federer - French Open" ... :haha:

anyway... wonder will this trend continue...?? if so... how..? will we see the no 1 (probably djokovic) win AO2013 again...? or will we instead see no 5 (ferrer??) winning AO2013...?? :D
