players committed to play 4 ATP500 tournaments in the calendar year (because top-30 in the end iof last year) are allowed to enter all ATP500 tournaments whatever their entry ranking

WC for JCF in his last tournament  and most probably WC for Robredo too, since he didn't use his PR here.

I guess the last WC will be either GGL or Bautista.

Ausie

Hewitt WC too.

Didn't know about Lleyton. Great to see he'll be in Valencia this year :bounce:

Most probably there will be only three wild-cards I guess. Not sure why this year all ATP 500 tournaments had 4 WC's listed on the entry lists, when all of them ended up using just three.

that means only Nadal, Djokovic, Berdych or Stepanek could get it if they want (only committed players who have entered nothing this week)

Ferrer and Ferrero must dream of Nadal coming back there ;)

the other 3 WCs probably Ferrero, Hewitt and Robredo

nearly all the players ranked #8 to #20 have entered here. It's very risky because most of them will end with QF or less, having to play very difficult matches in the process. It's a "all or nothing" thing.

I don't know for how many of them this is right but anything is better as a 0 in ATP500 obligation tournaments.

Probably because at this stage of the season, and for this group of players, it's about making the WTF or nothing. A few of them will have a chance at that with a win here over their closest combatants. Sure, finishing top10 is nice too but it doesn't matter much in comparison I reckon.

Bautista should get a WC here. He deserved it this season.

If Granollers retains his title with this entry list will be a premonition that the world it ends, no offense Marcel :P

I read that Nalbandian is out for the rest of the year (abdominal muscles)

Besides, Fognini will have to decide between Basel and Valencia as he's in in both

This tourney has 3 WC's, not 4.

It has four if a commitment player asks for one. So if Novak wants to play...

You mean if a commitment player doesn't ask for one, but they already have, Muller is in, the other 3 WC's are full so Novak can't be in here, besides he would only play Basel anyway and there is 1 WC still open at that tourney.

Mahqz
10-19-2012, 02:03 PM
The 4th WC can only be given to commitment players. If no commitment player asks for it the spot goes to the next player in ALT list. In this case it can be Müller. Correct.

Why was Haas replaced by Volandri (alternate), not any of LL candidates like Gimeno-Traver, Bautista-Agut etc ?? Was Tommy withdrawn before the quali has started? I missed the time of this withdrawn...
