if anyone has info on french players' tournament commitments for next year (esp. during january, in aus) please post it here!!! :worship:

arnaud's official site doesn't have any news (or perhaps the language factor is too confusing for me!)

I really dunno, they didn't give their programm.
I guess Arnaud will play the same tournaments as the former years, so the australian tournaments...
But I'm not sure you'll be glad to see him ! (see what I read on Bercy site !!!)

lol. I love the new Arnaud Clément!

Sorry no info, Via. But the first entry lists should come out in a couple of weeks.

Not sure Arnaud can get in some Inter. Series' main draw next January though, given his actual ranking :retard:

On the bercy site the legend was: Arnaud Clément (FRA)

- About Lletyon, according to well informed people, he's dating Tatiana Golovin ... :o

- About the truegood Arnaud, maybe Hangdog knows what he'll do after talking with him in St-Pertersburg ;)

mel - yes you're right i suppose even arnaud may not know for sure what his calendar will be, he may have to float around tourneys in the same week depending on whoever gives him the entry or at least a good qualie draw..... uurrrgggghhhhhhh .... i hope he'll still play the same 3 tourneys in january.

i'm seriously thinking of going to melbourne instead of adelaide in january... at this stage nono looks like ending the year around #100 so he shouldn't have to qualify for the ao... but only just. i would hate to go to melbourne only to have missed the qualies :(

Paulo will have to play AO quallies as well

Via
11-10-2004, 09:32 PM
well, richard turned up in sydney qualifying last year... did he get a wildcard at AO?

lizabeth..*
11-11-2004, 08:39 AM
No...he only just made the cut for direct acceptance!

Via
11-11-2004, 09:01 PM
richard may still make the cut for AO's main draw next year, but not paulo, i'm afraid!

lizabeth..*
11-12-2004, 09:34 AM
Hmmm Richard has moved up a lot...didn't think he was ranked that 'high' (#106)...yes you are right Via...Paulo will miss out by only a couple of spots :(

Via
11-12-2004, 08:36 PM
only a couple? you bet there'll be withdrawals!!!

richard's year-end ranking has been around the same region for 3 years now? knocking on the top 100 door but never get in :(

lizabeth..*
11-15-2004, 11:07 PM
Hmmm well he managed to get up into the 80s at the start of this year...if only he was able to stay there. *shakes fist*

Hey Via, where did you read that Seb won't be in australia ?????????? I read an article, he has practiced again for a few weeks, to be ready for the next season... so, I guess you saw that somewhere on the web.... ?

Via
11-23-2004, 09:45 PM
huh? wasn't that what arnaud meant when hangdog asked him at st petersburg? but yeah he might not know exactly what seb's doing and planning.

me of course i want very much for seb (and arnaud!) to come to sydney!!!!! even if he changes his mind and asks for a wild card at the last minute.

so esther don't get depressed.... don't shoot me either ;)

Yeah come and stay with me. We need to have that BBQ...wahahahhahahahaha.

think i'll have some trouble staying awake on courtside :o

not suprisingly, arnaud is nowhere near making the list or even the alternates... it now depends on whether he wants to show up for the qualifying. i don't think there're any attractive challengers on aussie mainland that week, eh?? *fingers crossed he doesn't go to auckland*

whereas seb (i've found i need to watch out for him lately, lol) doesn't appear on either sydney or auckland and we already know he doesn't play kooyong....

It seems that we'll have to wait even longer before Nicolas Escudé returns to tennis action. From sports.fr:

According to l'equipe and the website of FFT, Richard will play the challenger of Noumea from the 3 to 9th januar (that would mean he won't play the hopman cup  ), then the qualifs of Sydney, then the AO...

According to l'equipe and the website of FFT, Richard will play the challenger of Noumea from the 3 to 9th januar (that would mean he won't play the hopman cup  ), then the qualifs of Sydney, then the AO...

qualies in sydney... he'd better not collapse again in the heat! it's been said that we're going to get a particularly hot summer this time.

Via - there shouldn't be a problem finding last minute accomoodation... last year I booked a week before through the flight centre site I think, and it's ok. i don't think Aus Open is as crazy as say Grand Prix when everything is expensive. But you might want to do your research now and see which hotels you want to stay at (close to everything, got the facilities you want etc) so you can just jump in and buy when you see a good deal!

lol... it seems that sunday is the only real "tennis free" day!!! i'm trying to stay away from shopping... cos i'll be broke by then...!!!

That's official, Richard and Tatiana won't play the Hopman Cup. Both decided it's better to play a tournament (him, in Noumea, her, in Gold Coast) than to play the qualifs of HC, (cos if they don't win the qualifs, they won't play of the week).
I'm very disapointed for you, liz  and yes, you will can insult him when you will meet him in Melbourne ! (for french insults, I know you're luent ... ;) )

thanks for the advice, kat!!! yes that's usually what i do anyway these days with hotels... but i happened to find one at the lastminute site which had its AO two weeks all crossed out, (no discount offer) and that made me a little nervous!

well anyway, now we know there's a last resort somewhere in suburban melbourne, with a :wavey: esther as hostess ;) ;)

marine - no tennis and cold weather, that's us in june, no need to  hehehe

poor liz, that's the worst nightmare for a fan after everything is booked!.... let's hope perth has other attractions

aren't you on your L plates? we can hop right in

i had stayed with friends in a suburb called doncaster before, i had to take a bus to get to the city for the tennis. i didn't find it that bad though. i had lots of time to waste :p

oh liz if you had prior notice, maybe a package to new caledonia wasn't such a bad idea! there're lots of advertising right now. i never been there, never knew that it's a tennis 'stop'!!! but it's supposed to be closer to sydney than perth is.

France out of Hopman Cup
December 13, 2004

A MIX-UP over entries has forced France to withdraw from the Hopman Cup mixed teams tennis event in Perth next month.

Exciting teenager Tatiana Golovin entered the Uncle Tobys Hardcourts WTA event on the Gold Coast in the same week, unknown to French team officials.

Facing a fine for a no-show at a tour event, the French allowed their 16-year-old to go ahead with her Gold Coast appointment and withdrew from the ITF-sanctioned Hopman Cup to be replaced by Zimbabwe.

dont you think sometimes that perhaps, richard and tati Have their own reasons for not playing the hopman cup??? :o

Your curses against richard proves 1) that you are intolerant

2) you dont know that a tennis player career is made of choices, richard has made his decision thats all

Respect it and players in general. :(

bad news for michael llodra

31/12 12:30 - Tennis, ATP
