Hi :wavey:
Got the chance to interview Marin during the QF Davis Cup tie in Buenos Aires and Goran a few weeks later during an exhibition cup and both got published on the #8 edition of Foot Fault Magazine.
(Pages 32-34, 42-45). You can read the magazine online (also there is an upcoming interview with Ivo Karlovic in the next numbers.. it's in spanish though.

Marin explained his upbringing in Bosnia back in 1988, his memories of the civil war being 30-40 kms away from the war and how his family went near the coast to avoid the conflicts. The first tennis court built in his town in 1991 and how his dad built their own court on the back of his home in 1996 where he could practise. His father wanting his children to practise sports the way he would have wanted himself but couldnt due to the wars. His time representing Bosnia in juniors then becoming croat and how much he worshipped Goran.
He said his biggest challenge is becoming mentally strong in this part of his career and how he lacks consistency even though he already knows how to handle on a tennis court.

Goran acknowledges he did something good for his country and is happy his influence is still there. He claims Marin has potential to stay in the top ten for many years.
He recalls how it was playing for Yugoslavia Davis Cup and the Olympics, then doing it for Croatia. He says he doesnt understand why the Croatian tennis federation doesnt name him DC captain when players want him to be the captain.
then he told me the story of how he scored a goal playing a friendly match with the croatian football team and how Hajduk Split wanted him to play for them :worship:

really nice guys, and I really appreciated them. Just wanted to share this with the croatian community :) :yeah:
