Fed has the most fluid and easy service motion of all players, no?

Yes. I am a hater and I love his service motion.

You're saying Federer has the most fluid service motion of all pros?! Obviously you've never heard of Brian Battistone.

Not to mention the most elegant.

Not an easy service motion by any stretch of imagination.

Yes to beautiful, elegant, fluid, beautiful, masterful, world class, easy going, fluid and did I say, beautiful?

Definitely. If I was teaching someone to serve, I would get them to copy Federer. Platform stance, the perfect height on the ball toss, well balanced and of course very fluid.

:haha: I was joking. It's the exact opposite of fluid. But yes I agree Federer has the most fluid service motion. Good question btw ;)

its not good for higher ranked tournaments in the tour as this motion is inconsistent with so much vibration and movements.

best without a shadow of doubt. I would add it's effortless too, it looks like he could serve 1000 serves in a row without breaking a sweat.

Fish has a very nice and simple motion too. But Fed is obviously the better server.

Isner has the best and most natural service motion. Federer's balance early in his motion sometimes causes his rhythm to get out of whack. Just watch how often in crucial games Federer misses every first serve.

If Isner and Federer traded motions Federer would be a better player and Isner would be weaker.

Such an arrogant player does not deserve to have such an elegant service motion.

It's perfect for his body type.

huge fan of his, but imo the most fluent service motion is that of Feliciano Lopez.

For me it`s between Fed and Berdych.

Ljubicic.

Ljubicic.

This.

He could even fake his ball toss to make his opponent think he is going to hit a kick serve but will hit it down the T.

It is easily repeatable, very fluid, and looks nice to the eye.

But it can be difficult on the back, he leans back a good bit, and has quite a bit of twisting around on it. So long as the back is strong, it is not an issue, but we've seen Fed with some back issues over the years, Sampras too in his last years.

Personally I'll take the Berdych serve or the Tsonga serve. Less stress on the back, and they both use their legs more effectively than Fed to explode into the shot.

At least it's not up to Cilic's standards :help:

True.

Still not sure how Cilic hasn't broken his spine yet. I don't wish it on anyone, but I cringe when I watch his serve. Such a mediocre serve for someone of his height.

In terms of good to watch, yeah.
But looking at what they do for their heights Becker, Kohli, Tipsarevic are obviously doing something right

I get the case for Lopez or Ljubicic too

Berdych's is definitely very nice. Such a measured and assured swing.

Fed's is picture perfect.

My favorites out of the great ones:

Hass
Isner
F.Lopez
Nalbandian
Fish

Federer's is repeatable and all that but the strain on the back is way too much and would cause some hurting along the way.
Isner's simplicity is beautiful and super effective, just fluid and exploding on the shot at the right time with hardly anything that could ever go wrong. It's something to look at.

Ljubicic had one that was brilliant for a second serve disguise. A lot of people were left having no clue wtf was going on on that shot in his heyday.

Yes, that Ljubo serve is textbook.

Actually I have to take back Nalbandian off that list. The high ball toss is dead giveaway no matter how fluid the rest of the motion is. Same could be said about Berdych, who's got second serve issues as well.
