Very hard to predict, but somebody finally has to win it.

...Murray, Djokovic and DelPotro will not only have to manage the surface transition within 2 days, but also doing that while overcoming jetlag.
Tsonga is having one more day at disposal for that feat.
(Murray played even 2 matches on sunday, both for the gold medal.)
Fish (last year's runner up) got quite a good draw and I wouldn't write him off.
Tipsarevic reached the semis last year (lost to Fish) and his form seems even better this year so far.

It's about predicting who isn't going to withdraw. Tough to imagine any of the top 4 seeds really being into this tournament mentally since they've all figured into the weekend's medal drama.

I'm going with Isner because he's still on a run of confidence but wouldn't be worn out from the Olympics drama. I am quite curious about Raonic with the home crowd.

since I think the top 4 might not even play this event, I think at least Murray OR Djokovic (most likely Djokovic) will opt out of playing, I'm going to go with Del Potro.

he's in great form and should be motivated to get further in the top 10, and certainly after the Olympics he will have the confidence against this weak field

I think Murray will withdraw, leaving Djokovic to take it.

With this draw it`s safe to say that Tsonga has a good shot to win his second Masters. Hope he has enough left in tank after OG.

Easy 1000 points for somedoby to pick, don´t know about Murray-Nole-Delpo, i hope they all will play but surface change + long flight it can be problem, so i give chances to Berdych - he lost early both Olympics and Wimby, he should be doing fine here, Tsonga also stayed long in London so wonder how he will be affect. Guys like Isner, Raonic can make it far and even guys like Fish or Tipsy can defend their points. This Rogers cup can be easy 1000 points for suprise winner.

Berdych should do well here.

The surface here is gritty. It's different to Montreal last year which was fair paced. Think more in the lines of AO.

Expect some vulturing at it's best, some grunting along the way as well.

Think about Marcel. You know you want to.

Tsonga or Raonic hopefully but I doubt it. Murray is most likely going to take it.

I'm going Tsonga over Berdyach

If Murray withdraws, Isner-Raonic potentially in the last 8 could be fascinating. If he doesn't, Murray-Raonic rematch could be interesting in last 16. I really don't see the wisdom in the 3 guys who played yesterday competing, especially with Cincy immediately after.

Andy has a great chance here if he keeps up his form. He loves this surface and he could storm through to a title.

Of course, that's if he doesn't withdraw.

Pretty tough potential draw for Djokovic if he is to win here. If it goes to seeding, Nishikori, Delpo, Tsonga & Murray. Gonna be difficult, especially given that Nole 2.0 has been laid to rest for the time being.

I would say Murray has better chances here, provided he doesn't withdraw. He fares well generally in these summer hardcourt events. He plays well against big servers, and with Raonic and Isner as potential R3 & QF opponents, history suggests he should get through. SF could be against anyone, given that Berdych has been shocking for a few weeks, Fish is still coming back from injury, and Monaco is Monaco.

I make Murray favourite to take this tournament, with the winner of a SF between Tsonga and Delpo as the other finalist.

Murray wants a huge buildup for his USO letdown, so I say he wins Toronto.

Murray lost his only meeting to Raonic on Clay, and would play him on Thursday with little rest and likely without his normal level of focus/commitment. While Murray would be favoured in general, I would give the edge to Milos should they meet on Thursday due to all of the baggage that Murray has from his Olympic triumph and the home court advantage for Milos.

Delpo is clear favourite here.

Del Potro is also playing doubles. I guess he really wants to be prepared for this US Open.

Well, Berdych also. But this was expected, he really needs to make up for all the time lost this last month.

Is Del Potro in this event?
I've heard some inferences without confirmation that he'll not be there.

I checked a site that is pretty good with keeping updated on current events and he's not listed.

Nothing on the tournament official website. And I've found this article from today where he is still mentioned as playing doubles.

special exempt ("SE"): Players who are unable to appear in a tournament's qualifying draw because they are still competing in a previous tournament can be awarded a spot in the main draw by special exempt.

Querrey played doubles final in Washington.

Weirdly enough, they also have Tipsarevic and Berdych not playing, but they are playing for sure.
