Olympics F: Bryan/Bryan def. Llodra/Tsonga, 6-4, 7-6

Congrats on the Career Golden Slam. An Olympic Gold was the only big thing that was missing from their resume.

Apparently MP was amazing but I missed it as I channel hopped to the mixed :o

Few very good volleys from Llodra, but too many errors.

Bryans were the better team by far. Their serve were almost untouched(Edit: in second set). At one point they had won some 21 odd straight points on serve.

That get at match point :eek:

It feels weird not to see a ceremony at the end of the final.

Omfg!!! Did you see that defensive lob off of Tsonga's smash on mp!! I think it was bob Bryan who ran back way behind the baseline and hit a lob off this smash with his back to the court and it landed just inches from the baseline. Insane shot!!!

That 4-3 game with Mike serving in the first set was HUGE. Saved 4 break points and from there Frenchies were never close to getting another BP. And Match Point was nuts. Bob didn't need to run after that smash since they had 3 more MPs, but he did anyway and they won it after a rally went on and Llodra hit a forehand volley into the net.

Why have they ruined the doubles' final by changing it from BO5 to BO3? I was going to start to watch it more carefully from the 3rd set, the I say Bryans already have a MP in 2nd set. :(

Better team won, I don´t know if Llodra/Tsonga won a single point in the second set on Bryans´ serve, not many anyway.

Congrats Bryans. This was the most important title they didn't win 'till now. Now we can say they accomplished everything in this sport and they can be called doubles legends :yeah:

This match just strengthens my point that Tsonga's volleying is far from technically sound. He can hit flashy drop volleys, but his drive technique on either side and footwork are just not great.

Tsonga wasn't that good in this match. Congrats to the Bryans, even though I was pulling for the Frenchies.

I was also surprised that this was best of three. That sucked, the final should be best of five IMO, we have so few best of five doubles matches nowadays.
