Stan's tie break karma is just too strong to handle. If you want to win tight situations on a tennis court you should run as far as you can from Stan  . fed missed some passing shots which he usually hits by closed eyes though . At least he can turn hole focus on singles now

Good for Fed. Now he can rest some more and concentrate on singles.

Plus it's good in the long run for the USO.

At least they'll always have Beijing

That being said, Fedrinka played really poorly in the third. They were brialliant in the first, so it's annoying.

Fed couldn't carry Wawrinka to the gold after Wawrinka carried Federer in 08. Too bad.

good thinking but this was a doubles match. fed already has doubles gold, doubt he would win another and now can focus on singles. not as bad as it looks

I was there, it was slightly gutting to watch them lose when they played so fantastically in the first. Their returning got worse as time went by. Oh well, we'll always have 08!

Yeah I know and it does make sense, but I just can't watch Fed losing, especially when my 2nd fave is losing as well
Hoping for double gold was a little greedy, but as an obsessive fan I just couldn't help it. Oh well, I need a drink...

Not quite sure what you meant, but I'd expect you to understand this (given you are one of the few sane Djokovic fans around here). I do care about my country, but I care more about Fed. Now that Fedrinka is out, I'm rooting for our boys (against the bryans, woopdi-fuckin-doo).

And btw, they are a very strong doubles team, so I'm disappointed but not that surprised. They are the safe win in every DC match.

Dude... It's Yonni and Andy... How the fuck can you be sad??? I'm ecstatic for them! Great win and I'm just really sad I couldn't watch that match anywhere.

I'm a very big Fed fan but still... How many times have you been to Ramat Ha Sharon and cheered for these 2? Think about that and it might cheer you up :)

Very sad for Federinka  but I'm glad it was to another team I liked. Was really pissed that that little section had Marc/Marcel, AndiYoni AND Federinka, but at least I was guaranteed to have one fave team in the third round.

Stan
Keep going in singles, Roger

i was gutted at the end of this match (especially after the first set) but the more i think about it, the more i realise that this could well end up being a pretty good thing in the long run... old bones not so resilient as they once were etc etc ;) still minorly gutted though. once fed's level dropped a bit, erlich & ram might well have been whacking the ball into an empty court really, stan could have nipped off to the café for a panini and a cup of tea at that point and it wouldn't have had a huge effect on the scoreline :o

"I thought we played an excellent first set. Conditions were tough. They were breezy, a lot of shadow on the courts. But that didn't disrupt our great playing," Federer said.

"It was a pity we couldn't create a few more, maybe, opportunities throughout the second set. But obviously they found a bit of a way to get back into the match," he said. "They definitely played better once sort of the shadow went, all the flags, all the spectator shadows were gone. It was more clean tennis."

God... This was a difficult match for me to witness.
Most Israeli Federer fans like me were rooting for Andyoni to win, because Olympics are mostly about the countries and because they wanted Fed to get some rest.
I dunno, I just couldn't root against Roger. Don't see how I can ever hope he misses his shots, the same shots that I pray for him to put in every single day. Kind of a boundary line for me :o
