Kavčič fought hard and managed to get 4 games with his grass court pedigree that's quite good. He tried to be aggressive but Pics Ferrer was having fun.

Slovenia got their gold medal today, no one expected Kavcic to get many more games.

Blaž  Really nice fight. Don't remember when I saw him so agressive for last time. :worship: But yeah, Ferrer was really solid as rock today.

Blaž

Watched the second set and OMG what a beast this Ferrer was. Blaž needed to play his best tennis just to win few points. Ferrer was mosty rock solid and hit some nice winners as well. Dominating with his forehand and returning 200km/h serves for breakfast.

Absolutely nothing Blaž could do here, but he got a new experience and was shown how tennis is played on the highest level. :worship:

Somebody got what they wanted :haha:

Yeah Kavcic has his moments, but on the whole.. Ferru was just playing around with him.

Ferrer was absolutely sensational today. Federer has a problem, a vulture problem.

Too strong Dave, too strong.

07-31-2012, 07:22 PM
I don't think Ferrer was that sensational, actually... Only 2 aces, and 55% of first serves, that's not up to his usual standards. He can do a lot better than this. A huge amount of winners, though, that's where he made the difference.

I'm not worried, though, he still won very easily and he didn't need to put more effort into it, 6-2, 6-2 is enough :D

Well, Kavcic won a match on grass. That's more than he could have expected beforehand. (I'll leave aside the fact that his first-round opponent was laughable)

I went to this match after Tsonga-Raonic and it was a lot of fun. Ferrer was unstoppable but Blaz still played well and was really going for his shots. He needed to get more 1st serves in to really stay with Ferrer but he fought hard. There were some great rallies and shot-making from both players and the sparse crowd on Centre really enjoyed it. It was exactly what I needed and the serving contest between Raonic and Tsonga.

I hope Blaz leaves here enjoying the experience and with some belief he can play on grass. He has a fairly big serve and he can hit big off both wings. There's no reason why his game can't work on grass if he puts some work in.
