Nole looks like he can't fine his feet on this poor excuse for grass and Roddick looked very good VS Klizan, anyone else smelling an upset here?

Whenever we sniff out the usual suspect of Roddick having a chance, he gets thrashed really badly.

Therefore Nole will win something like 6-2, 6-1.

Andy certainly has a chance considering he should have the confidence right now going into this, he knows he has beaten Novak in the past, and this is grass. I would still consider Roddick to be perhaps the better grass courter. I'll actually go on a limb here and say Andy in 3. The crowd will definitely pull for Roddick, the Brits love him.

choppaa
07-30-2012, 08:43 PM
This is worst match up right now for Novak, I read today that he said this grass is faster and more unpredictable than grass from GS so Roddick's serve will be a problem for him, not to mention that Nole's form is very poor at the moment.

Andi-M
07-30-2012, 08:45 PM
Only result that would suprise me is a Djokovic beatdown by Roddick, everything else is pretty much on the cards.

Really would not be suprised if A-rod won here, I'm not sensing any real form or desire from Novak at the moment, maybe he just needs a kick up the bum, Or perhaps he's a bit mentally and physically fatigued atm from his efforts over the last 18 months?

has much more interesting ups and downs on the court, when on a much more agressive game, more entertaining in interviews and isn't afraid to not be overly friendly to the opponent on court.... Djokovic used to have a semi interesting personality when he did impersonations but that is long since gone. these days obviously Roddick is more entertaining, even when losing. I mean watch an interview of both of them and compare them side to side. Andy has a reputation of being a bit of a daredevil for a reason.

I feel a certain kind of inclination to agree with you on this particular matter. The 2009 Wimbledon title should have been his, if only - shoulda woulda coulda doesn't count, eventually.

Duck, do your job here, please. At least, make it a genuine, decent MATCH! :rocker2:

BackhandDTL
07-30-2012, 10:49 PM
Roddick has a solid chance at taking this match if he keeps from playing like a door mat. Then again, I thought that about the Ferrer match at Wimbledon and that turned ugly.

Nole's mobility continues to be a big issue for him on grass, and Roddick would do well to expose that. Andy shouldn't have to go for broke on forehands out of the gate; rather, he'd do well to move Djokovic around, displace him, and approach when he creates openings. His service games should be taken care of on these slick courts if he cranks up the MPH's, and taking cracks at Nole's serve to keep up the pressure should be the most he'd have to play outside of his comfort level.

Really? I love Roddick but the guy has had plenty of chances (not just at Wimbledon, remember US Open 2006 and 2007), at least it took a prime Federer to beat him, Djokovic lost in 4 to a severly past prime Federer this year at Wimbledon; Imagine if this was 2005. I think most people rate Roddick higher on grass than Djokovic regardless of the Wimbledon title in Djokovic's favour. Djokovic was at the right place at the right time, credit to him. Hewitt's Wimbledon was a joke though. At least Djokovic had to go through Nadal.

90% sure Djokovic will win unfortunately. The only reason I give Roddick 10% is because that guy has beaten the top guys when he plays aggressive. If he plays aggressive then there is no reason he can't win.
