From 3-3 *40-0 Paire went into a level of muggery never previously reached by humankind.

This was a great high quality match.

What a weird match. 9 breaks in the first set. Benoit had 7 DFs and something like 28% first serve percentage in the first set then coasted on serve in the second set until that 3-all 40-love game.

As aggravating as players like Monfils or Gulbis can be, I reckon that Paire has them beat in terms of torturing fans.

Although he's never going to reach #1, Russell has a good chance to eclipse his career high ranking of 60 in the weeks to come. To do that at age 34 would be an astounding achievement. What a fighter.

i watched him agains bennetetau, roddick, anderson, levine
easilly his worst match from those five

he was rushing, forcing, and making stupid decisions, like those clueless rushing´s to the net

Paire is crazy but it's awesome. I was thinking Paire is the type of player who you love because you know they can be better then what they are, kinda like an abusive spouse who if they just got help, would be the perfect spouse.

Benoit's 1st serve deserted him in the Tomic match as well so this is becoming a habit. He had a real chance to do some damage in this weak field so he only has himself to blame. He could be a good player if he just sorted his head out.

Well done to Russell who just gets the job done with the minimum of fuss.
