Maybe Federer in 3 if he is feeling particularly muggy

First match so it's difficult to know what Roger will show up.

Goderer: 6-0 6-0.
Routinerer: 6-1 6-2.
Shankerer: 7-6 6-4.

Either way it will be Roger in 2 I think.

Yeah, can't exactly be the biggest confidence boost for Roger and Alejandro will feel he missed a trick at Wimbledon. Though this Roger is vastly superior and understands the importance of startly well. So Roger in 2, 6-3 6-2

tbf Fed's hamstring and thigh were practically hanging off at Wimbledon 2010

Falla to finish the job

Really.

To everyone who is afraid of Falla (or has hopes for him) - the guy is 10-17 on grass for his entire ATP career. And at 28, he is no longer young and rising.

And they have met not once, but twice at Wimbledon. In 2004 Federer won 6-1, 6-2, 6-0.

S**t!

Fed can't win in 5 this time. Hope he has a better start than last time they played. ;)

Fed has a cake draw. Hope he won't fuck it up against low ranked players.

Best of three sets on day 1 grass, so technically anything can happen. But Rog should do it in 2.

Falla has a chance here, especially in a best of 3 shootout.

Federer might face back 2 back two players that came very close to beating him at Wimbledon

averagerer should be enough hopefully in the 1st round. something like 6-3 6-4.

we need serverer and jesusfed to show up in the final phase of this tournament, not the early rounds.

and Fed had harshly defeated Falla in Halle just before their famous tight match, yes.

But Falla isn't that bad on grass : defeated Isner and Mahut in last Wimbledon in a very convincing manner.

For information, Falla's just arrived this week in Europe after winning Bogota challenger on clay against Giraldo last sunday.

Of course Fed is highly favorite but anything can happen

being not bad on grass is a thing. beating Federer on grass is another.

This is not 2010. Yes, he lost the Halle final... but he won Wimbledon! Federer in two: 6-3, 6-4.

Which makes it all the more irritating he lost to Haas at Halle. Another Hall/Wimbledon double would've been cushty.

NID. Fed with worst possible first round :o
Will be pleasantly surprised if he takes a set.

Clearly some people are stuck in 2010. That was a different Federer then, going into Wimbledon with low confidence- lost his first grass court match against someone not named Nadal since 2002, carried a serious injury and forfeited the number one ranking because of his stupidity one two week earlier.

This will be somewhere between 2004 & 2010. 7-5,6-3 Fed.

My supremely unscientific observations tell me that Fed usually plays badly when he has a cushy draw. Should still hopefully win this in two though.

are you serious?

i´m not participating in those jinx/antijinx-games, in my opinion the final is pretty much a lock for fed. he desperatly wants that gold, so he won´t lose to low-ranked opposition.

and tbh, i´m particulary unafraid of falla/benneteau (kind of happens once, doesnt happen twice)

yes, it doesn't need to be scientific to be said : as a statistician, I can tell you that a long observation, really, is the most important to really know ;)
