All the best to the neighbour Grigor. I like his game.

Just that he is away from Novak, Janko i Viktor and he could do some serious damage in the first week

Srećno Grigore

Grigor opens against Kubot. That's winnable especially after their Gstaad match

If he beats Kubot, he plays the winner of SImon-Kukushkin. If he maintains his current form, he can beat all those guys.

This is a good draw, it's up to him to take advantage of it.

it looks like a decent draw for someone with his ranking!
I hope he capitalize here and reach the 3rd round

Ben Rothenberg of The New York Times has mentioned him as a possible outsider to be in contention for a medal

Ben Rothenberg ‏@BenRothenberg

Pretty remarkable that someone from that Ferrer-del Potro quarter will be in the medal rounds. Maybe streaking Dimitrov? Nishikori? Simon?

He should be looking at his draw and thinking it's time to really step up

yes it is time, however Grigor was on a verge of something before yet last year he went on a losing streak to top players with a very nervous matches missing just a little.
What will he do now I don't know. It is important how he starts the tournament, Kubot won't be so easy as it seems, but there is a potential for something bigger, I agree.
However this is Grigor. Best tactic is match by match and let's see what happens. I hope this time he makes it.

Damn! I was hoping he would play on Sunday so I could see him play his first round match. He had better win so I can see him on Monday. ;)

Grigor won R1 at Olympic by 63 76(4)
He played very tightly in 2nd set, but he rallied the set and got it!!
it must be a solid match if we can watch it will be better
so curious what he wore;)

Great result today. I was fallowing it on Livescore on the train journey down and my 3G signal cut out when he was set point down so I was abit worried for a while. Great to see him hanging tough and pulling through this match. Hopefully he can take down Simon next. As long as he's not playing on Court1 on Monday, I should be able to watch him.

Cool outfit btw. I'm glad he's playing in the Bulgarian colours and it might inspire him to greater things.

Lukasz Kubot:
"I played better today and knew exactly what to expect, but he kept surprising me, he kept changing tactics. His serve was superb today, won a lot of key points and, in my opinion, he will be in the top 20 in the world within 2-3 years, maybe even in the top 10," said Lukasz.

"In the second set I was better than my opponent and deserved to take it. I have nothing to regret as I played pretty well on important points. My opponent, I'll say it once again, served very well and this is what decided the match".

Serena Williams talking for her relationship with Grigor:
He is a good friend of mine. He is working with Patrick Mouratoglou and I'm also working with that coach. We've trained together a couple of times. He is just killing me. His shots are so strong. After one of our practices I just told him that we can't meet anymore on the court. I know that people are talking crap, but that's what it is
Hopefully I translated it OK :)

He's on court 18 tomorrow which is a great court to go and see him. Hopefully the weather will be better than today. Anyone know if there is a stream for this? If not, I'll post a detailed report after the match.

I was really impressed with what Kubot had to say about him after the match especially the comment about Grigor changing tactics throughout the match.

Laura's match is also on court 18, wish your bladder won't get in your way again to take a photo with Grigor after his victory;)
I guess there should be the stream of court 18(although I can only find the link of centre court and court 1 these two days...) But the video camera can't catch every corner on the court, so please share all those wonderful time you spend with Grigor to us:D

Grigor lost 3-6 3-6 ... a lot of unforced errors again. He started playing well, when it was too late :(

Same old story as in Nice. He came in with low confidence and no game plan vs Gilles, playing too passive or pulling triggers too early. He couldn't find a good rhythm against Gilles. Gilles has been serving well these last two matches but no spectacular, just his usual solid self. Grigor (and his team) is to blame for poor performance.

I'm just back from Wimbledon and I saw the whole match. It was disappointing because he started well and broke back decicively after the first break. From 3 all in the 1st set, his level dropped dramatically and he was broken twice to lose the set. I was hoping he would pull himself together in the 2nd as he has been doing recently but he got a couple of very bad line calls which he let get to him and he dropped serve again at the start of that set. He needs to learn not let these situations get to him and keep his focus. His 1st serve also let him down today which was what really cost him the match. He had been serving so well at Queens and Wimbledon so I'm not sure why his timing was so off today. Against a player like Simon who hardly missed a ball today, you need to be aggressive and dominate on serve. You can't do that when you are forced to play so many 2nd serves as Grigor did today.

The frustrating thing was that he found his 1st serve towards the end of thre match and not only won his service games easily but started putting pressure on Simon's serve. He got a break point but hit an unforced error on the forehand. If he had won that point, the momentum would have definitely changed. He played some great tennis to save 3 MPs but Simon finally closed it out. I felt bad at the end because it felt like it was one point away from being a good match.

There were a lot of French people on court today supporting Simon but very few Bulgarians. Grigor still got a lot of support from the crowd but that was mainly from British fans who seem to have taken to him after Queens. They were desperate for him to win that break point or come back from MP and he would have got huge support if he had done that. He's made a lot of improvements in the last few months and even though this was a setback today, he should still feel positive about the future and continue improving. The result may have disappointing but it's always great seeing Grigor play live. I took loads of photos and I will post them on here once I get back to Scotland.

Hi chantelle, my bladder wasn't the problem today, it was that on court 18, it takes ages to run down to where the players come out. Even though I left as soon as he lost, I still missed him so I didn't get a photo. If he had won, he would have stayed to wave to the crowd but he must have left the court very quickly. I did see him on the bridge where all the player give their interviews to the media and he was there for a long time. Serena was also there and they stayed and chatted for a while which I got photos of.

Speaking of photos, you haven't shared yours from Wimbledon. When are we going to get to see them?
