Well done, Tommy!

Haas is 6-2 in H2H with Malisse now.

Malisse certainly would have liked to draw somebody else than Tommy in this tournament as they met in Madrid already.

damn, I've faken a closer look at Tommy's next opponent and it could be Canas again.

I don't like that, Canas is like a wall and his game was poison for Haas in Vienna :(

This time, Tommy badly needs to change something and bring variation into his game. Sure, Tommy's powerful games hitting through the ball on forehand and backhand is good enough to beat many players, but against Canas in Vienna it didn't work at all because he gave Canas a too good rhythm to retrieve everything and always the same shots.

While I was wathing the López vs Canas final a few days later, I actually thought that it wasn't even such a bid disadvantage for Lopez that his backhand is quite week and that he mostly only slices it back because it was something different for Canas and not always the same shots and the same speed.

He lost against Canas, again, like in Vienna. :-(

Why is Canas so tough for him:(:(

I posted this a few minutes ago in GM, I'll quote myself now:

Haas was really an oaf. :smash: :smash:
He had Canas on the racket and let him escape with two UNBELIEVABLE brutal errors in the tiebreak. One was an easy backhand volley that he would have had just get the racket on to let it drop in, and the other one was a pathetic error as he missed a should-high forehand shot that came down about three meters behind the net. Incredible! A 12 year-old girl would have made these points :o :banghead: :smash: Of course you can't win like that.

At least, Haas played a better first set than in Vienna a few weeks ago. But he couldn't deliver in the tiebreak.

The 2nd set was a brutal collapse and Haas got broken immediately in the first game. From there on you knew that Canas will never look back again.

Canas' game is just poison for Haas.

But well, Haas' season started earlier (concerning getting good results) so it's just fair to say that Canas has the better end for his own one now ;)

Congrats to Canas, I don't cheer for him often, but of course a good player!
