Showed some decent mentality in that first set. Got a bit lucky though towards the end of that set. Thereafter was pretty predictable. A good win overall, mentality-wise. PHM put up a tough fight throughout.

Another final for Mugsarevic. Might get wiped off the court in the final against Bellucci, but it's been a good week for him anyway  :yeah:

Tipsarevic is a crap player for a top 10. Any tournament is tough for him considering his win-loss finals record, so he's not really a vulture.

What do you want? Wasn't your worry Delpos no8 seed for the Olympics? He is now 8th for that and also Canada, maybe Cincy, with Nadal out. Now he just needs to do better than this 'vulture' and be ranked no8.

Tipsarevic is a crap player for a top 10. Any tournament is tough for him considering his win-loss finals record, so he's not really a vulture.

But you love seeing him win and Simon-Reeding his opponents :yeah:

Does no one understand that the way points are done, you really can't vulture 250s?

PHM had alot of chances in the first set. Five set points, but only one set point on his own serve. Then, he couldn't get the first serve in. But a great first set that lasted over an hour. PHM tried in the second set and saved alot of break points but you knew Tipsy was the fresher player. Tipsy is very solid, no real weapon, just solid all around. And his serve, both first and second, is very good for a player only 5'11.

please explain coz i don't really get it

When it is about the WTF - yes, it doesn't really matters if you have 2 or 10, but for the rankings it actually means a lot, at least from what i know

These haters are so pressed today....Congrats Janko :wavey: Outstanding clutchness in the first set....Janko's haters are bitter old hacks...You gotta give him credit for improving so much...Prior to last year, he would have folded in those tight moments and given up...He has vastly improved in that area and really has stepped up to show he deserves his rank...Don't be bitter because your muggy faves can't produce results...And these Del Potro freaks :help: Does he even still play on the tour??!! He takes more weeks off than the professionally unemployed :haha: At least Janko plays tournaments...Del Potro is irrelevant and that is why he is number 9 and not higher...Congrats Janko, and please trash Mugllucci again...He needs to be taught another lesson

Commitment players (top 30 in 2011 year-end ranking) can count their best six (6) results from ATP World Tour 500, ATP World Tour 250 and other events (Challengers, Futures, Davis Cup, Olympics) toward their ranking. To count their best six (6), players must have fulfilled their commitment to 500 events - 4 total per year (at least 1 after the US Open).

So if Ferrer, who is often accused of vulturing, wins another 250, it doesn't count at all

Tipsy has become very consistent, good to see.

He's definitely losing his #8 to Del Potro within the next few months, but he has every chance to finish the season in the top 10. Should finish the year #9 or #10 and maybe winning a few more tournaments.

Well, this year you can potentially count 6 250's if you've fulfilled your commitment to 4 ATP 500's but I do agree. I mean there comes a point after which you cannot add points. They're playing for money and that's what every professional does - try to earn a living . Or would we rather just not watch top players outside of 15 events?

Yeah, and they call Monaco and Ferrer vultures. TBH i really don't care if they play 30 events a year, so what they are healthy to do it, is it their fault. Specially if they are a top 30 commitment player.
