Gstaad SF: Bellucci d. Dimitrov 7-6, 7-6

Exciting match with some great shot-making and amazing winners from both players. The match was fairly even apart from Bellucci raising his game in both tiebreaks.

Dimitrov should go to the Olympics with a lot of confidence in his game. He's raised his level considerably, he has more patience in rallies and his backhand has developed into a real weapon. He just has to focus more and get more consistency on his 1st serve.

Bellucci :yeah:

Needs more practice on those tiebreaks there, Dimugtrov :o

Great match.

Bellucci was tight towards the end of the 2nd tiebreak, would have felt sorry for him if he lost it after some amazing tennis to get to match point.

too mentally strong this Siesta boy:bowdown:

Dimitrov needs to mature in tie breaks now

Dimitrov is coming along, slowly but surely.

Not often you refer to Bellucci as a mentally strong veteran, but in this case, it is true.

He should be good for the title now.

Bellucci played extremely well and the only mental fragility exhibited was on match point  where he DFed and hit some silly errors.

Good to see Bellucci go on a 12-1 run in July and propel himself back into the top 50, up where he belongs.

Shame for Dimitrov but he is still up to about 53 in the new rankings, solid progress lately - keep going grigor!

Great match from Thomaz, offensive tennis, really inspired with the top-spin FH today, punishing Dimitrov with his angles and serve.

Nice win for Bellucci. I really hope he can put his game together tomorrow and take Tipsarevic down. If he wins tomorrow he gets back to the top 40...

It's great to see he winning a lot of matches in a row, and it does look like his mental is better, and if he keeps playing like that, I wouldn't be surprised to see him in the top 30, or even top 25 in the end of the year, since he has almost no points to defend.

Result as horrible as Dimitrov in tb.

poor Grisha, I was just able to see the first set, he played some great great shots..very nice to see..and he was very consistent..except that crap first game, he even had 1 set point at 6-5 with Bellucci serving but couldn't convert, then the rain came and the match was stopped some minutes, then he started the tiebreak a little off with a DF and made some mistakes after, anyway he has progressed a lot, I hope he keeps doing it, the guy has talent.
