Hypnotize 07-20-2012, 02:05 PM Haas is a better player than Mayer with his ugly game will ever be. tennisfan856 07-20-2012, 02:11 PM Haas is a better player than Mayer with his ugly game will ever be. mayer is an ambassador for the sport. There aren't enough players that display creativity. Lugburz 07-20-2012, 02:25 PM Agreed, Mayer has very unique and very creative tennis. mark73 07-20-2012, 02:27 PM mayer is an ambassador for the sport. There aren't enough players that display creativity. Agreed. Two great beautiful to watch players. I really enjoyed this match even if it was a bit one sided. TigerTim 07-20-2012, 02:30 PM great match, shame is was over so quickly, go tommy, make merry of this joke 500 and win! philosophicalarf 07-20-2012, 02:38 PM Really good match to watch. I think I like this Haas more than the younger model - his physical limitations now mean he has to use the brain more, and it's great to watch. Mayer needed to find those droppies earlier, Haas is really slow up to them. Hypnotize 07-20-2012, 02:41 PM mayer is an ambassador for the sport. There aren't enough players that display creativity. I'm not disputing he's creative but his shot production is ugly. I hope Haas wins the tournament. He's the only player left in the draw I like and it would be another chapter in another remarkable comeback. He's had a few of them now. Mae 07-20-2012, 03:14 PM Another win for Tommy :woohoo: Lugburz 07-20-2012, 03:16 PM Really good match to watch. He is much calmer when he stupidly loses point, but same attitude remains when he wins point ;) Have to disagree on Haas being slow, there were few shots even I doubted he could catch, which he converted in point later on. leng jai 07-20-2012, 03:21 PM Haas is Haas, younger or not, his game hasn't changed much. Haas' game changed immensely since his younger days. Before his shoulder surgeries he was a power baseliner with a huge serve. After all the injuries he has become far more rounded player and incorporated his slice and net play a lot more. When he was young and physically peaking he had decent volleys/court craft but he never relied on it like he does now. Watch a tape of a 2001/2002 and compare it to 2007 onwards and it's a huge difference. rocketassist 07-20-2012, 03:23 PM Be boss if he could add another home soil title in his career twilight. The fans love him. Lugburz 07-20-2012, 03:33 PM Yep I remembered him 10 years back(and watched all big matches), agreed it has changed as I said, but hasn't that much. Ofc after shoulder ops, one would need to reduce baseline shots and try to win quick points. But in essence of his game, he still had that offensive attitude. Personally, I like he introduced more S&V style, many years ago. Made him as perfect example of complete all-around player.. JediFed 07-20-2012, 04:26 PM 14 more to go for 500. 15-8 on the year so far. Can he keep it up? Allez 07-20-2012, 04:55 PM Haas playing like a man on borrowed time. Hope he wins this now that Kohli's out  CooCooCachoo 07-20-2012, 05:08 PM Flo  viruzzz 07-20-2012, 06:16 PM Tommy fuckin Haas, bringin' the 90s back. Honestly 07-20-2012, 06:21 PM The Federer era was obviously very strong. samanosuke 07-20-2012, 06:37 PM Not bad from 09' second best clay court player Hypnotize 07-20-2012, 07:16 PM Hope he takes out Cilic tomorrow. :yeah: incube 07-21-2012, 12:07 AM Very Good Haas today...but also a funny match from Mayer:lol: Haas knows he is on his last chances to win titles...there is no top3 here, even there is no the best Juan Monaco and the clay seems fast. leng jai 07-21-2012, 12:24 AM Haas has actually become a very decent clay court play as he has aged. At least he is less likely to be blown off the court on this surface. Clay Death 07-21-2012, 01:10 AM haas the monstah. somebody stop this man. Mimi 07-21-2012, 01:47 AM happy for his fans, especially Mae and leng jai, they have been waiting patiently for so long for Haas to step back into the courts and having such good results, the reward is being paid now :yeah: Ashlar77 07-21-2012, 03:02 AM Tommy's great run continues, another Semifinal! :hearts: | |
