Gstaad R2: Dimitrov beats Brown 7-6(3), 3-6, 6-2

Close, back-and-forth match with Dimitrov edging it.

Grisha played ok in the first two sets but he was not really there mentally. Poor concentration cost him the second set. Grisha then won the first 12 points of the third set, breaking Brown's first service game, and never relinquished his lead.

Two amazing players to watch, Dimitrov is just better but Brown can do some damage at USO i think

A very sad day.

Brown was abysmal any time he got close on Dimitrov's service games in the first set, couldn't get the return in play and the few times he got it back in, it was mid- court, that killed his chances.

Very boring match.

Only the 3rd set and tie break showed Grigor at the needed level. Needs to maintain the kind of game he played in those moments if he wants to win a title.

Otherwise good win, especially on his service games in the first two sets Brown was invincible, played some fantastic dropshots and volleys but after the second set his concentration lapsed and allowed Dimitrov to boss him around.

Once again Grigor saved his best tennis for the 3rd set. Didn't serve well in the 2nd set but pulled himself together to take an early break in the 3rd. It's good to see how much he has improved mentally over the last few months.

He's through to another QF and I fancy his chances against Kubot.

Dimi needs to keep it up. The final shot on match point was marvelous.

Dimitrov rises. With this sort of form it shouldn't be too long before he wins his first ATP title. :)

Watching these 2 clay GOATS duke it out must have been something special. They should both do OK during the USO series.

Not good losing a set to Brown but convincing 3rd set.

Yup, that's why "Dimugtrov" is where he is in the rankings and Brown is another 70 places below him. Seriously...

So what? Brown was #89 in the world when nobody here knows the name "Dimitrov". Brown and his mental problems are known and the main reason why he is not a Top 100 player anymore but if he continues he will reach this aim. And we should not talk about it...Brown would teach Dimitrov a lesson on grass and indoor courts...everyone who can not see that should start watching tennis and not only see a stupid ranking.

89 in the world! Wow and he's only 30 years old now so he could easily dominate this sport for the next 10 years. :haha:
