quality wasn't the best, but steve has a great serve and forehand to build on. The backhand really needs help, so hopefully he can improve that to go further.

The don....horrible stuff. He is heading back to u.s. challengers by the end of the year.

I wasn't aware there was a camera on this court. How did you watch it?

More than his serve and FH (good, but need improvement), I was impressed by SJ volley skills :worship:

Offensive-prone and some flashy tennis but BH is a mess, though. All in all a player who will be interesting to follow in the future imo..

Good point, his volleying was actually the sharpest part of his game. His serve and forehand are usually more consistent than they were today.

I only caught from when Stevie got the break in the deciding set. At this point, the quality was not great, but I hear he started the match very well. He could indeed be a good player in the future!

First maindraw win as a pro, congrats. And yeah Steve really needs to work on that backhand, but his forehand is awesome though.

To say this isn't expected is blasphemy, although I'm surprised it went to three sets.

Donald! you won a set! I'm so proud, just keep going, you still are the future of American tennis

Young has had worse losses than this. Johnson may be low-ranked and inexperienced on the pro tour, but he's supposed to be a major talent and one of the best college tennis players ever.

Hopefully we see more of Steve and less of Donald.

Does Young have the worst losing streak at the moment (14 and counting)?

I recall a long chain of losses for Spadea as well a couple of years back.

yup Spadea was on a 21match losing streak. Can't really compare those 2 though. Young has way more talent and is full of himself.

Feel bad for Dimitrov for being 1 of 2 players that Young defeated. 13 loses and counting.

he doesn't even realises how bad he's.... seeing him fist pumping on useless BPs when he's already down a set is beyond pathetic. he should bent on his knees and implore his former coach to take him back.

Do you think every player who is down a set should just pack it up and tank instead of trying to turn it around?

Young really is in a horrible streak, he should have gone back to challengers a long time ago, the writing has been on the wall a long time now.

what I meant is this behaviour in Young's case appears to be quite ridiculous as he often saves this BPs through opponent UEs and acts as if he's in the middle of an epic tennis match spraying fantastic winners etc...
