Keys of the match: Bryans unable to break (0/8 in bps, 0/4 in 2nd set which they lost) + couldnt capitalise from comeback in the last tiebreak from 1-5.

Unbelievable! Marray is only the fifth ranked GB doubles player and not even a member of the Davis Cup squad.
Congratulations Marray/Nielson.

2 GB players in Wimbledon finals, and both male. Last time this happened was 1960.

Jolly good show!

Where has Nielson been? He's 28 years old and the only GS tournament he's played before is doubles at this year's Australian??????

Amazing :worship: They are in the MD with a WC and some posters were criticizing this decision.

I think grass is easily their best surface, but I can't get over the fact that they're in a Grand Slam final and managed to beat the Bryans. They're used to playing together and are one of the best teams on the Challenger Tour, but they still lose quite a bit. This is just a fairy tale run :hearts:

This run should make Nielsen decide to focus on doubles. He can have a really solid career on the main tour, whereas in singles he currently doesn't even have a ranking to enter most Challengers with. Marray/Nielsen to compete in ATP events for the rest of the season.

In Challengers.

Lovely guy, beautiful game to watch, but not good enough to hang with the big guys.

They haven't played a lot at all. I can find only two tournaments they have played together. So it's fortunate they gave NIelsen a wc and didn't team Marray up with another British mug.

watched a lot of Freddie Nielsen in Notts this year. he takes his returns so early, they are a joy to watch live. became a total fan of his that couple of weeks. getting to the final at wimbledon must be so special for him.

Wow, you're right. I would have sworn that I've seen them in draws more frequently together, but I guess not. Marray/Nielsen > Delgado/Marray.
