Hopefully Caca doesn't enter with a WC here. Also, Karol needs to win this event.

Cedrik playing here is interesting. It won't work though.

Pretty low cut-off for a $125k.

Odds on Kukushkin taking a wildcard here?

maybe wc for yevseyev?

Should be safe. He also got one last year. If all the Kazakhs play here WC's could go out to Kukushkin ( don't know if he plays here due to Olympics ), Schukin ( guess he will be here, is also in the entry lists in Bejing and Samarkand ), Korolev ??? and Yevseyev. Other choices could be Kedryuk, Popko or Yessenbekov.

Sombrerero loco
07-18-2012, 10:30 PM
yeah and he won a round last year so hopefully =D
popko is so young yet imo...

RHB1993
07-18-2012, 11:03 PM
Yeah he will just turn 16 by the end of the year but he has been given WC's to nearly all Futures in Kazakhstan and won one round both last week as well as this week. I think he won't be the first choice but if some of the 4 that are normally planned in my opinion don't appear in Astana then he could get one.

And Yevseyev has had a decent year so far, also considering that he seemed to be injured for some time. He progresses and may be able to reach challenger level within the next years. Would be great if he gets a good draw here and could defend his 10 points as he then would definitely finish top 600 this year.

Sombrerero loco
07-18-2012, 11:08 PM
yeah but he only has one point from futures since i remember. he plays and trains in spain so i can see him few weeks a year hopefully =D
as for denis, i really hope he can defend his points here. he is a great guy, and i think he is so talented

any WC confirmed?

Kedryuk and Yevseyev are not in the Q Draw so they should have received one. The other two might have gone to Korolev, Kukushkin and/or Yessenbekov. Maybe Korolev might get an SE. I don't know about the exact rules but if he reaches the semi this evening he could get one or is there a limit considering that this challenger is on a different continent?

Just saw the second set from 4:3 Konecny. Yevseyev was the better man from that point on but he lacked some consistency and some nerves, as his service game for the second set was just thrown away. But it really seems like he makes some good progress and considering that he just turned 19 he could definitely go up in the rankings, especially this year as he just has to defend 4 points until the end of the year.
