I just read an inteview with Federer and one of the questions was "Isn't it weird to face players have your age?"

But having a look at his recent matches most of his opponents were 30plus! :D

In Halle he beat Youzhny (30) in the semis and lost to Haas (34) in the final.
And now he beat Benneteau (30) two days ago in Wimbledon R3 and now plays Malisse (30).
Next up is probably Yozuhny again...

Tennis is getting older! Where are the 13-year-old Capriatis and the 15-year-old Hewitt? :D

Guess it's just part of the demographic change.

The game gets more physical, so it takes players longer to develop and because of better nutrition and treatmont they are able to play longer...

The doubles champions in Wimbledon 2012 were actually the only under-thirty winners this year!

This year's champions, Serena Williams (ladie's singles), Roger Federer (Gentlemen's singles), Williams-sisters (ladie's doubles), Mike Bryan & Lisa Raymond (Mixed doubles) are all over thirty!

... and there are more and more players in their 40ties!

Dick Norman (QF in Queens with Malisse) is 41 e.g.

And on the women's side Kimiko Date is still top 100 in singles with 41 and Navratilova played until she turned 50!

The doubles champions in Wimbledon 2012 were actually the only under-thirty winners this year!

Actually only half of the double. Marray is 31. Frederik Nielsen, at 28, is the only under-30 Wimbledon champion this year.
