How many RG titles will Nadal end up with when he retires?

I think 10+ is a possibility seeing as he's untouchable on this surface.

Totally impossible to say  but my guess is 0-2 more.

johnny mac said 10 the other day.

i would just like to see 2 more wimbledon titles and 2 more french opens.

and i would like to see a couple of more davis cup wins for spain.

that is more than enough.

1 to 3. 1 or 2 more RGs and maybe 1 or 2 some other Slam. 4 more tops IMO. So he can go 1 short of Fed ;)

it is not about fed. fed is fed and we all know that he is a living legend.

this thread is about the clay warrior and what his limits are. nadal is not worrying about fed or going after his records.

he has to do what he can. i believe that he may be good for 4 more slams on natural surfaces.

He'll overtake Steffi Graf slam count

I think 0 to 2 more. But it's all gravy now.

that would mean he has to win 12 more by the time he retires. I could see him running away with the roland garros titles for the next couple of years but its going to be a bigger challenge everywhere else

I think he'll probably have around 10 french open titles..maybe more. Depends on how long he wants to play and how long his body allows him too

he definately has the possibility of overtaking roger's slam count. If he wins 3 more french opens that puts him at 14. He'd only need to win 3 more somewhere else to pass him

Well, Djoker will need to find 2011 form to win it next year I think he blew his best chance last year when he lost to Fed. Nadal was most nervous during that French Open campaign than I've ever seen him. He said he felt pressure from losing to Novak in all those Masters finals and he felt the pressure of trying to equal Borg's record.

This year, Rafa played like as if he was free from pressure, he broke his losing streak to Novak and went on a tear during this French Open campaign. I would say based on the fact that Rafa will be under even less pressure next year (he's already got the record) he'll be pretty hard to stop and let's be honest Novak is the only one capable of beating him there. Fed, Ferrer & Murray don't have a chance and Tsonga and Del Potro will have a chance but in the end I don't think they have what it takes to get the job done mentally. That leaves Novak but like I said, he'll need to find 2011 form next year which won't be easy.

So having said that, I think he can win 2 possibly 3 more provided he is injury free, but once he hits 30 years of age it will be tough at that point.

9 - so two more. Even that is not a given, but would be surprised if this was his last.

Would love if he could win 10 - that would be incredible. But really, he only needs one more next year to have even more records - most titles at one slam in Open Era (surpassing Pete's 7 Wimbledons) & also alone in winning a slam in 9 consecutive years. Bring on RG 2013!!

Probably 10 or 11 at this rate, maybe even 12. No one is coming up to challenge him. The French open has truly become unwatchable. The clay court season has become unbearable, scrap the whole damn thing and just hand over the titles to Nadal.

10 is the big goal.

It would be nice as well to add 100 more weeks @ N1 spot as well.

You kind of need to win titles in the other 9 months of the year to do that...

Like always, somebody will rescue tennis. It happened at Fed with Nadal, Nadal and Djoker. Djoker is not done yet, he will win 3:1 against Nadal's slam in near future. Somebody will destroy both Nadal and Djoker monopoly while Fed retire with 18. A couple of years later u will see the somebody become very strong.

Tio Toni can't pull the strings forever. When they speed up the courts next year, Nadal will want to run to his room and beat Monaco at playstation...

Why all the trolling as of late? As if Djokovic will suddenly start playing like shite because he lost the RG final?

I think he actually may have a chance of reaching 10. That would truly be incredible, especially cause everybody thought 5 years ago his body would be worn out by now.

Around 10 would be a solid guess. I can see Nadal wining at least one or two more on hard and probably around 2 more on grass, finishing his career with around 17 slams. I think he will retire at 29 or 30, do not see him playing for longer. We have a few more years, by that time Federer will be gone as well. :(

10 is the real goal, IMO 9 is pretty probable but to reach the 10th will be difficult with Nole and more seasons over his legs.

0-2 more. And 2 is unlikely. People are forgetting that very few - in fact, in the Open Era, no - tennis players with Nadal's mileage win a lot of slams in their late 20s.

Who do you see winning the french in the next 4 years or so? The only problem is that at the moment only the joker seems like a threat. You do make a good point though.

True, but in living memory Kuerten & Wilander came from nowhere to win R.G. As did Nadal, in a sense.

Not only has Nadal won his final RG, he’s also won his last career title. Nole 2.75 will rise from the ashes of the Nole 0.2 we saw take court for the final set yesterday to deny Nadal any sniff of success off the clay (like Rafa has any success outside of clay anyway!) :haha:

Come clay season 2013, Djokovic (by this time upgraded to Nole 3.4) will join forces with Carlos Boluda and Gianluigi Quinzi, and under the guidance of Charly Berlocq, will combine to repeatedly whoop Nadal, driving him into retirement.

I seriously think that Nadal has won his last Roland Garos. Why?

Because Novak Djokovic has shown that Nadal is pretty much beatable on Clay. And if you look at difference between Nadal and Djokovic this Roland garos. It was pretty much the mentality. Nadal,Obviously believed that he is untouchable on Clay and for fradulent reasons Djokovic also believed the same. The Result,Djokovic gave Nadal the head start and wasnt quit the same invincible Novak that he was in critical Junctures of the Match

And asides Djokovic, there can be new players that would emerge. Like Raonic or somebody else who might upset the applecart.

Lots of wishful thinking in here stay pressed, been hearing these comments about Nadal for years now, this topic is played out. As far as Nole, he is made the Roland Garros final once having really struggled to get there, got lucky against Seppi and Tsonga and played a nervous Nadal who had lost back to back Slam finals to Nole and was still visibly shaken after the Aussie Open, and lets not even start on the weather conditions which greatly favored Djokovic.

Who knows maybe someone up incoming will be a huge challenge to Nadal but as far as we have scene Nadal is still very much dominant at Roland Garros and still has a few titles left in him. Lets see what happens at Wimbledon, if Nadal wins, some posters on here will be on suicide watch!

9. He will win 2 of the next 3 years (the other one will be Djokovic). Then he will decline.
