WWW Miami R2: Davydenko v.s Isner

Davy leads the H2H 2-1 but Isner won the previous encounter. Isner is playing with alot of confidence right now so its really hard to see davy getting past him. A win here would be huge for davy though because he's inching up the rankings and could grab a french open seeding. The draw is great for him to go deep if he gets past Inser too

Normally the match up would definately favor davy, he loves playing the big servers but this is far from peak davy

Heart says Davy but head says isner in 2

your player has been kicking some serious ass lately.

you must be excited about that. 39 out of his last 41 matches aint too shabby.

I'll make a wild prediction.
The little bald headed russian shrimp will run Isner to the dirt.

Davydenko almost lost to Blake. Not a good sign. I wouldn't mind a Davy run but it's not gonna happen, wait for the clay season. Isner in 2

Isner will slay the giant russian in two bloody sets.

Support both players.
But this is Isner's momentum, Isner's country, and Isner's time for make the H2H 2-2.

Isner in 2, no tiebreaks.

I'll go with Isner in 2, however I won't be surprised If somehow Davydenko squeezes through.

Big John is coming off the best tournament of his career last week in Indian Wells, defeating Simon in a tough match in the QF, beating WR #1 Djokovic in a very entertaining, very clutch third set tiebreak in the SF before losing to Federer in the finals. Davydenko's defeated his nemesis Blake in the first round here for the first time in eight tries over James. Davydenko won the Miami Masters in 2008, easily defeating Nadal in the final.

The H2H between the two is 2-1 Davydenko, but Isner has the last victory, a 7-6 6-4 victory over the Russian in Beijing. Personally, I think you can throw all previous history between these two and their records from this event, and even last week, in the can. Davydenko runs extremely hot and cold but when he's hot, he can beat anyone. At first I had Davy winning here, but I have to go with Isner. His confidence is on it's highest ever level and he'll have opportunities to break Davydenko, especially if Nikolay chooses to simply roll half-paced serves in. I expect Isner to win in straight sets. He will keep the pressure on Nikolay the entire match and I predict that will eventually show on the Russian.

Hopefully Davy has it in him to save tennis once again. Isner and Fish in the top 10 is beyond sad.
