All players received a bye in the first round. What's the use of such a "round"?

OMG, I think Jan is back! Good. If he wins this event I'm gonna feel a bit of resentment, though, knowing he could have easily gotten into the French Open MD direct

If he plays here, hopefully he wins it, or Schoorel.

First three seeds win their quali's against WC's 6-0,6-1 and 6-2,6-0 and 6-0,6-0.

Fourth seed had a tougher match against 5th seed, but no worries: both go through since there's one lucky loser.

Brilliant tournament so far. :worship:

Jan has taken over. When he decided to stop the crap, not many can stop him at this level.

Jan needs this event, so he will be a top 10-12 seed in RG qualifying. Hope he wins the third set to love!

Ilhan has been broken twice by Nedelko from being a break up. I've seen the Russian play and he's pretty good. But Marsel losing this would be a real low point.

Jan struggling with Granollers-Pujol is a bad sign. His form isn't back yet. Luckily, his draw sucks to the point he can probably make the SF here regardless. But right now he has to turn things around and win!!!!

Filo, no need to be so aggressive when some random players put up a fight against your faves  I think it's better for tournaments to have close matches rather than one-sided matches everywhere. And Gerard is fighting for a spot in RG qualies, so he was probably motivated today, but Jan's experience was too much for him in those tie-breakers.

Pathetic result from Jan and a severe missed opportunity here. Sousa to play Marti is basically a lay-up title and he failed. But a SF in his first event from injury is good, and he'll have a good chance for another big week next week, so therefore it wasn't a total failed week.

The final is a borefest. Schoorel vs Hajek would have been awesome. Sousa vs Marti is just a whole lotta blah.

You should know the difference between me whining and me just being negative AJ

I'm satisfied with his week given the circumstances. It's still a bad loss. Someone of Jan's quality shouldn't lose to someone like Sousa. It is what it is. Overall, given his severe struggles going into this match, a SF is a great week. I'm already excited about next week in Rome.

Sousa to clinch his 2nd tittle, please! And actually, if he wins it he could be very close to Frederico Gil next week, in the ranks, witch would be hilarious and shocking at the same time. The fact that Joćo Sousa could become portuguese numeber 2 in a very near future. And actually with Machado's form falling apart, it could be even possible for a national number 1 at the end of the season...

But if I have to bet, I would bet on Fred who is having a good season so far. He will lose a lot of places next week, but after that, very few to defend until the end of year...
