Now this is an interesting first round encounter. David blitzed through qualifying, although zopp was injured in the first round he crushed benoit paire in the final round. Donald has been in crappy form for a while now. Whoever wins gets almagro next round

given young's form this year this is more like a win david must take. I hope he does win, would really help toward getting into the top 100 this year

Probably Donald. This is the type of match he should win, since both he and Goffin have similar strengths and weaknesses, but DY has more weapons and is bigger. Hits the ball bigger, and is IMO quicker too. Basically a better version of Goffin in many ways. DY should feel motivated here for a good run and will look at this as a great opportunity for a victory, so I expect him to take it. Wouldn't be surprised if it goes three sets, though.

Goffin has more weapons and hits bigger. Stronger in every area of the game. He should win easely.

Goffin is more talented, but physically weaker.
These slow ass courts are not gonna help him either. Don in 2

Donald hits a heavier ball. Donald's ball has a lot of spin on it, because he's lefty. That will be a huge factor here as he can move Goffin off the court with that lefty forehand, plus Goffin is small and not particularly strong, so it will be difficult for him to handle Young's ball, especially on these courts. Goffin is a better shotmaker but he's not going to get the opportunity to do that in this match.
