Both of these men had nice runs at Indian Wells this past week. Giraldo made the third round before losing a close match that went to a deciding-set tiebreaker with Almagro. Andujar defeated Haase, F. Mayer and Ramos before taking a set vs Djokovic in the fourth round. Andujar is showing an improved hard court game and made the third round of Miami last season, defeating Tomic and Verdasco in the process.
Giraldo leads the H2H 2-1 but Andujar won their last meeting at the French Open last season in straight sets. Match could go either way, but for me, Giraldo is the player with the better weapons here and should take it, I think in 3 sets.
