Fish out of top 10 after Miami?

Miami results from 2011 excluded he is number 11. Will he be out of top 10 after Miami, or will he finally have a better tournament? I think he has to count on Tipsarevic doing poorly.

It doesn't take a huge amount for Mardy to retain his top 10 position. But I think he's going to lose early in Miami. Pressure is on him and it will tell. I think he's going down R3 at the latest.

About time he drops out. He has been poor this year. Last year he deserved to be in the top 10 but not this year.

Question, Miami from last year ended one week sooner right? so in theory it should drop this weekend, but where Miami is 1 week later there are no rankings until Miami ends, so it wll count for 53 weeks? Why don't they publish a new rankings mid event in 2 week long events like grand slams, and IW/Miami? I mean challengers, and futures are still going on, why should those players have to wait to put their points on just because the ATP event is 2 weeks long?

Probably will drop behind Tipsy, Del Potro, and Isner to number 11. But he will still be only a few points from #10. If he manages to earn ANYTHING during the clay season, he will be top 10 again before wimbledon. Then he'll have to defend his wimbledon, canada, and cincy points.

When the top 4 are consistently in the semis of every major tournament, all you need are consistent quarters and rd16 finishes to be top 10. Toss in the odd semi and finalist and there you go.

Futures points are accounted 2 weeks after the tournamentes.

For instance Canada F1, and Canada F2 don't both get added 2 weeks after they finish, they get added at the same time, this time may be right after Canada F2 finishes, or a week after that or 2 weeks after that, but every futures tournament doesn't get added 2 weeks after it finishes, some get added immediately, some 1 week, some 2, some 3 based on how they group them, and when they add each group.

Nope. The reason you might think this is that the rankings weren't updated a week ago due to the length of Indian Wells (and also Miami)

But what you said is that futures points are added in groups. They aren't, though it ends up being that way a couple of times a year when you have two week long tournaments.

yeah, you're right, my mistake. I thought I remembered seeing it happen one week that there wasn't a 2 week tournament though but I can't find an example of it now, so I guess not.

Anyways, has a losing record against Fish :confused:. But hopefully it will change. Gotta get past Chardy first. I can't rely on Chardy taking out Fish :o.
