Frank Dancevic has won the title at the Dallas challenger, coming through qualifying and winning six matches this week. Title is worth 125 points so the reward is huge for the Canadian, who will rise over 40 places in the rankings. Dancevic saved 8/9 break points and came back from behind *1-4 in the first set tiebreaker to win the first set. Dancevic served great on big points. That was the main deciding factor. The rallies Andreev had an advantage until the final few games. He bossed a lot of points with his forehand and hit some good cross-court BH's, but made too many errors and struggled in the windy conditions. Dancevic was ultimately the more solid of the two, game-wise and mentally, and that saw him through here.
Hopefully Dancevic builds on this and shows the confidence and belief in himself and his game he displayed this week in future matches and tournaments. An event like this is exactly what he needed to get his career back on the right track.
Andreev is back in the top 100, although he was up-and-down this week with his form he should take a lot of positives in making it to another final, especially on hardcourt. This should situate himself well for a good European clay court run after Miami.
