Very up-and-down match, with up-and-down quality. Bjorn was up a break in the first set, Igor was up in the second set. Andreev had three break points to serve for the match at 5 all in the second set and made errors on all three points. Bjorn had three set points at *0-40 at 6-*5 in the second set, and Igor played five great points in a row to hold, then went ahead 6-*1 in the tiebreak and eventually closed it out.

Igor's forehand, when he's set up to hit it, is an AWESOME shot. Extreme topspin, powerful, he can hit his forehand in all directions, and he has great deception with his forehand. He's got more versatility and finishing shot power with his forehand than Nadal. His serve+forehand weapons ended up winning him the match. When he's composed and focused, he's still a very good player, although the rest of his game outside of his serve+forehand is still very inconsistent. Bjorn played decent at times, hit some great shots, but made too many errors overall and didn't serve well enough.

Andreev is back in the top 100 with this victory for the first time since September of last year. Hopefully this tournament gives him a lot of confidence in future tournaments, particularly with the clay season coming up.

Andreev, Dancevic or Haas for the title.
Whatever happens, tennis wins.
