What are you guys talking? Tipsy played pretty well today. He just wasn't able to keep concentration at 100% all the time (what's new).
Nalby played great.

a really good win

david's first serve percentage was awful at times, i think he hit 8 second serves in the 1st game of the 3rd set but still managed to hold. a few too many UE's throughout the match but some nice winners too.

I very much doubt you watched the match. Both players played great, could have gone either way. Janko had a phase where he hit the ball incredibly crisp.

Finally!
David you did it!!!
6-3, 3-6, 6-3!
it should be 6-3, 6-4 if not those terrible own serves foults in second.
But OK, you win :)

Next is Tsonga...
Plz David give us sweet revenge :)

I did watch the match, which is precisely why I'm disappointed. Can't say I've ever seen Janko win a close match.

He probably didn't have enough money to buy Fatbandian enough big macs to lose the match.

Very very high end quality shotmaking for a set and a half from both of them, no pushing, no pimping the ball, just hard paced precise shots, but far from ball-bashing. Janko was very solid and consistent through the whole match. Nalbandian served exceptionally good in that period, first serve percentage around 70% which is very unusual for him, he did not allow his opponent to get involved into his service games at all. In the second part of the second set, he lost the first serve completely (in the game he was broken I think there were 12 points and he didn't hit a single first serve, plus made a couple of double faults) and that affected his strokes and confidence a bit. He also struglled for a while in the beginning of the third set too, Tipsarevic looked like a better player out there and what Nalbandian did was slow down the game and pace, adding more safe topspin from both wings, throw some variety in form of slices here and there, and slowly working up and lifting up his game again, confidence was restored, service games again easily won and he started to press harder in return games, which resulted in a break.
Before the match I though he might lose this one, but he did looked quite motivated and eager to win, which is also not happening too often with him. There is nothing to be addressed to Tipsarevic account either, he played a fine match at high level.

How come Nalbandian is ranked outside top 70 and Grannollers at 26th?

No need to answer, I know Nalby has been injured but I just wanted to point out this absurdity in the rankings.

Troicki is #25, that's an absurdity by itself.

They're both capable of beating the top players, unlike Troicki.

Simon and Monfils atleast have some talent, they have both defeated Federer and Nadal. Simon is a great pusher and Monfils not always a clown.

you did watch the match very good, I agree with comments...

I wonder, how Dave lost hist first serve ? how it is possible for profi player?
i found, in their first meeting of 2007 David made 20 aces (vs 14 of Tipsarevich)
now in 2012 he can do max 2-4 per match...
his biggest problem - "weak" first serve :)

He always had a problem with consistency with his serve, the only time that was really good was after Jaite took him over . I never figured out what did he changed, it kinda looked the same, but it was really efficient, stable, precise and with some extra pop, at least for a while.

I didn't read the Forum last night -- started reading it today. Anyway, I believe you are wrong: Janko played really well against that handsomely talented guy, David the King of Tennis and put up a fierce fight. Both of them played really well and King David won, deservedly so. Nalby is so talented that it is almost uncanny. Too bad his physique is not on par with his amazing talent. To say that Janko should retire is kind of meaningless, really. Because I believe that David Nalbandian is one of (if not the first of) the most talented players today.

Great match for Nalby, one of my favorite players. The other one, Handsome Radek, the guy I also respect a lot, lost after a good fight.

Just watched it. A joy to do it with vlc, even if both of them actually take little time between serves, even points. :) Nice match, lovely matchup actually. :yeah: Tipsy served much better after the first set, and had his chances at the beginning of the third. Great shotmaking aplenty throughout.

All in all, definitely a must watch for tennis fans.

Also, Biljana
