Tough match but too bad it ended with Giraldo playing an absolute stinker of a TB.

El Cabezon didn't do anything too stupid, the classic over the top celebration.

just two words about this match: almagro's girlfriend.

Almugro acting like a gorilla out there when all he did was push in the tb :o Pretty annoyed at Santi out there, he shows time and time again that he has the game to be scary good if he just had a brain :stupid:

Almagro's reaction so over the top, I love it.

And yes, his girlfriend is amazing

Giraldo improved lately but he is useless in tight situations anyway. Some bad habits never changes. In the final tie-break he was done basically after the first point in which Almagro didn't do anything except pushing everything. Before a final set tie-break Giraldo's chance of winning it are around 20-30 %.

I love Almagro's overemotion. Tennis needs more of that.
Shockingly decent match other than terrible Almagro returning (he won 90% of neutral rallies, served great, but that service line flat return is a disaster)
And yes, hot gf.

Almugro looks like an elf, pretty amazing what being a pro tennis player gets you with the girls :p

Sounds like two good reasons why that guy is hated that much.

Love that over the top celebration. So bratty, yet so good.

Do they know how to pronounce correctly? Giraldo is constantly pronounced incorrectly by umpires and commentators, with "French manner" instead of the Spanish one :o

Same girl from Miami 2011?

True that. BTW, don't I owe you some Edberg tie break results from the 80s, Voo?

My friend and I often talked about how the commentators always pronounce Giraldo wrong, and that friend of mine is a radio director of a sports show and when he was talking about some results he also pronounced it with a "French manner", which of course he got laughed at for, but probably only by me. I guess it just gets into your ear after you hear it like that a lot of times.

I'm not sure you owe me anything, but I need around his 20 tie-breaks to know them all :)

I don't know what's with these people, they earn (I suppose) quite good money for umpiring, but pronouncing player's surnames incorrectly through many years is tasteless. Is there anyone to teach them?

Ivanišević was pronounced always wrong.

Is it really so difficult to realise that š is like English sh or German sch

Hate to say it, but I'm warming to Mugro over the last year or so. The blog didn't hurt, spilling all that inner torment.

He still has a punchable face, of course.

That's a great video :D Maybe they can learn how to pronounce certain surnames from the ATP page
For some time I thought the umpires/commentators were pronouncing Tomic in a wrong way, but only later I found out he wanted it to be pronounced "Tomik" and not in a Croatian way "Tomich"

Will always remember Jason Goodall commentating one of his matches, when a shot of his girlfriend came up...

"It's amazing how being a successful tennis player can take your looks from a 4 to a 9 in the looks department"
