Kubot  I thought he shouldn't play between Davis Cup and Monte Carlo qualy. But if he plays good, he can do something here.

Pretty poor entry list tbh.

It's weird that Young plays here, he is not going to be selected for Davis Cup so staying in the US would be more logical. Or does he want to play Monte Carlo?

Interesting decision by Young. Americans almost never play Casablanca. Someone must have made a mistake on the entry application.

Good decision by Flo and he'll probably be first seed. I hope he can go deep. :)

I think this overtook Houston as the premier clay event.

Yes & No. He is #2 on the entry list, so perhaps he felt he would have a chance at a better draw as opposed to Houston. Also, since he's DA I believe that gets him free hotel for the week, correct?? Or is it till the day after he's eliminated??

This also means that he's probably planning on playing Monte Carlo the following week.

All in all, he's young, it gives him a chance to work on his clay court game a bit, while experiencing a different culture.

I hope this tournament will give a WC to Martin Klizan just like they gave to Dolgopolov in 2010.

Dolgo reached finals in Tanger and Marrakech plus he won in Meknes at Marrocco Tennis Tour. He actually lost as a WC his 1st round in ATP Casablanca to Klizan, who was a qualifier then. Martin Klizan then lost in 2R to Wawrinka 4-6,6-0,4-6.

This year Klizan won Rabat and Marrakech, plus he reached QF in Casablanca at Marrocco Tennis Tour, I think he definetely deserves that WC for his outstanding performances.

Many chances for an outsider to win this.

he doesn't need a WC to qualies.

DY isn't seeded anymore, meaning he's a walking bye in R1 unless someone ahead of him in the ranking withdraws.

I hope the EL cutoff goes down to at least Andreev and preferably Berrer.

I was hoping Lukasz would play  This would be a great chance to pick up some ranking points. Montel Carlo draw will be hard...At least he doesn't have to play qualies there.

He'll still be seeded, probably about 5-6. The guys ahead of him are Dolgopolov, Andujar, Mayer, & Istomin. Unless I forgot someone, but he's ahead of Fognini.

I'm sorry, of course he's seeded, I meant not a top 4 seed. So he will not get a BYE in R1.
