Marseilles Open 13 R2 WWW: Llodra vs. Dogopolov

The last serve & volleyer on tour (age 31) vs. one of the best new youngsters. Does Llodra even have a chance.

Llodra's match against Chudinelli was good but the Swiss was as old as Federer and ranked 190-something. Dogopolov will easily hit passing shots left and right I think :awww:

Serve & Volley is just not competitive or feasible in modern tennis anymore.

Very interesting match!
Dolgo is my favorite, but he often lose interest to play and find boring like with Rosol.
But with Llodra he will never be boring)
Michael plays in his home but he has an age...
I think it will be Tie breaks and score will be like
67 76 62
or
76 62

to Alex.

Hearts saids Llodra, head saids Dogopolov. I think a lot of people are thinking the same (unless they hate S&Vollyers)

That said it'll be good for Tennis if Llodra can pull it off.

Heart and head says - wants - it's a draw. :smoke: :hearts:

Llodra, the S/V magician, against the guy with the most unusual - if not indeed rightout obnoxious at times - style of playing/shotmaking witnessed for quite a couple of years. Interesting indeed, to say the least.
May the best of them win, both of them are on my favs list, so sure as hell I'll be watching this match! :bounce:

Head saids Llodra??

Don't you think he is at a clear disadvantage in this match?

This is a fast indoor court and Dolgopolov is head case. Llodra is also the sexiest former champion of this tournament. I'm going with Llodra in 3 topsy turvy sets.

serve and volley tactics dont work against a real tennis player like dolgo. expect mugdra to go down in 2 sets.

A tough call. Court speed and location raise Llodra's chances considerably.

Who knows, Alex is still not feeling well and Mika has the crowd on his side. One things for sure -- neither are impressive atm. Coin toss IMO .

Oh and btw, none of the answers in the poll actually answer the question. Should be Yes or No .

Llodrá is a clutch fucker in that court, and Dolgo is a brainless chicken when it gets tight. So as long as Llodrá keeps it close, he should win

Yeah, that's probably main reason why Dolgo didn't won any single set in their previous 2 h2h matches.

2010 Eastbourne (grass) Llodra won 6-3 7-5
2012 Adelaide (outdoor hard) Llodra won 7-6 7-5

Allezzzzz Mikael !

Dolgo tends to implode at least one service game a set, so if Llodra serves well he could definitely win this.
