What a wacky match. Neither player can't seem to hold serve, it was like a see-saw. Donald was actually serving for the match in the third but double faulted on break poin to let Dimitrov back in.

As an American and a Donald Young hopeful, I unfortunately have to bring up that Young also sucked dick, as he double faulted at 6-5 in the tiebreak. He could have easily blown it after that.

if i were his coach the first thing i would do is to force dimitrov to stare at the three testicles of Ivan Dodig while Dodig showers in the locker room... watch them closely... absorb their powers... hopefully then he might come to understand what it takes to win these...

As for tie-breaks, Fed had been very good very early in his carreer, far before becoming the player he became in 2004. And you would not praise him this way if he hadn't won 77% of the tie-breaks he played in slams, and 76% in slam finals.

Tomic has also been great in tie-breaks since he started playing with adults (I don't know in his junior years).

Raonic is a player who had not been that good in tie-breaks a few years ago in futures and challengers and has become good one year ago.

Winning in tie-breaks is a lot a matter of self-confidence then it may change along time, we've seen players having very good periods, then very bad ones (for instance Davydenko, Murray), etc ...

But some players have been good from the start : Fed, Djokovic, Isner, Roddick especially.

Anyway, I have the impression that Dimitrov plays a lot of tie-breaks, even when he played challengers : probably his returning abilities are not good enough, and also he has consistency problems (I have also seen him double-fault a lot when I watched him).

The same think happens second time in a row. Poor guy must be suicidal. Hopefully he will jump over this hurdle an come back even stronger.

It might not be a bad idea to go back to challengers for a while, and try to gain some confidence there. It´s certainly not what what he´d like, but it´s just not working out for him as it is.

I agree but he doesnt strike me as someone who would want to do that, he kind of seems stubborn.

I feel rather guilty now. Last year I was pissed off @ Grigor playing in Europe with all the top players when he could have been doing what Raonic was doing in the US. This year he goes over there and he still loses to the biggest mugs of all time. I'm not sure what he can do now :shrug:
