Good performance from David.
Sao Paulo R2: Nalbandian def Simon 6-3 6-2StevoTG 02-17-2012, 01:35 AM Good performance from David. Deathless Mortal 02-17-2012, 01:36 AM Well done Nalby :yeah: The female commentator nearly ruined it for me :o lucho_coria 02-17-2012, 01:41 AM King Dave is back :worship: He totally demolished Simon :) At 29 years old, he is capable to beat top 20 players like Mayer and Simon on his worst surface. I cant wait the indoor season  StevoTG 02-17-2012, 01:48 AM Does David really have a worst surface.. I always thought of him as an all surface player. Indoor clay should be very comfortable for him. BroTree123 02-17-2012, 01:50 AM Good for tennis :yeah: GrantOz44 02-17-2012, 02:02 AM Love your work, Nalby :) BauerAlmeida 02-17-2012, 02:15 AM Does David really have a worst surface.. I always thought of him as an all surface player. Indoor clay should be very comfortable for him. Well, clay is his worst surface probably, but he reached Roland Garros SF twice and won a couple of tournamentes (Bs As, Estoril, Munich). Solid performance today. In a couple of days he beat two TOP 20 players. KaiserT 02-17-2012, 02:18 AM Well done Nalby :yeah: The female commentator nearly ruined it for me :o She's absolutely horrific. Her tone of voice is disgusting, she speaks utter crap and she never stops. Anyone who hasn't heard her before wouldn't believe someone that offensive to the ears could get a job as a commentator. Thankfully mute is an option, really hope she doesn't do the Buenos Aires event either. Nalbandian showed Simple Simon who the boss was today, so that was a positive. Naudio Spanlatine 02-17-2012, 03:31 AM The pusher is gone:woohoo: :cheerleader: I love you Nalby:inlove: Good for tennis :yeah: This. Ouragan 02-17-2012, 05:58 AM Good to see Nalby still has it. viruzzz 02-17-2012, 06:56 AM This is a really, really big win for David. I am so damn happy, knowing Nalby he could easily lose tomorrow, but I have a hearbeat he won't and he would make Argentina to be proud again of having one of the most talented guys of the century. henke007 02-17-2012, 07:01 AM Tennis won Stephan 02-17-2012, 08:02 AM was it really so easy? Simon had 5 break points ... ossie 02-17-2012, 08:14 AM tennis beats pusher, good for the game. duong 02-17-2012, 09:11 AM was it really so easy? Simon had 5 break points ... In second set Simon led 40-0 on Nalby's serve at 3-1 Nalbandian : I guess if Nalbandian had not saved those break points, Simon might have come back. Anyway, I didn't expect Nalbandian to beat Simon that easily on this surface : it looks like a good win for Nalby. If Davis cup was scheduled all year, maybe he would be more often fit and have a better ranking  Joolz 02-17-2012, 09:22 AM in first set, Simon broke Nalbandian back then Nalbandian won 3 games at 3-3. Simon didn't break serve all match. Nalbandian saved all of those five break points. ;) HeretiC 02-17-2012, 09:59 AM Good win for sure, but it doesn't say much about Nalbandian. Contrary to his usual style, Simon did not push at all in this one, he even played first strike tennis, went for a lot and missed most of it, even trying to rip return winners on first serves. I don't know, maybe that was an intentional game-plan cause he did not want to get dragged all over the court if he plays passive, but his execution was really awful. We will probably be able to assess Nalbandian clay court form better against Belucci or Almagro. Eddy DoubleD 02-17-2012, 10:30 AM Sad, but expected duong 02-17-2012, 10:48 AM Contrary to his usual style, Simon did not push at all in this one, he even played first strike tennis, went for a lot and missed most of it, even trying to rip return winners on first serves. Thanks for this info :) Simon started having worse results in the end of last year, and whereas I didn't watch his matches, I read that he had changed his game that way indeed. It's the second time he tries to change like that : he did it already in 2009. Everytime he did that he had worse results. He hopes it pays on the long-term as he is more ambitious than his current ranking. As for Nalbandian, Volandri might also be a good test before Bellucci or Mayer. Simon didn't break serve all match. Nalbandian saved all of those five break points. Thanks, sorry for this mistake :o Orka_n 02-17-2012, 10:56 AM Well done, king D.
